1. Using Auto Source skill is just enactment auto.

2. Action qualification

2.1. The instance of Change the normal state (Menu state) to abnormal

2.2. When the normal state source turn to abnormal state (DPMS or Cable
separate), the OSD of 2nd Source is set out, searching the signal .

2.3. In the2.1.1 searching, the analog signal must be searching, it is not mind with
the analog cable insert or not. The Digital signal must be searching
that the signal cable is be inserted.

2.4. If the 2nd Source is normal signal, displaying the 2nd Source.

2.5. If the 2nd Source do not have any signal, go back to the 1st Source and repeat
the searching.

-. Shop Mode

1. This function is dividing the motionless image and dynamic image in the shop for supplying best image
quality setting function, and displaying the best image quality to consumers. In addition, it can prevent
the reducing of image quality when consumers tryout the monitor in the shop.

1.1. Using the function : In the state of display Direct Brightness OSD or Direct Volume OSD,
press the Menu key about 5 seconds and after LED Toggle of one times, then shop mode is on.
1.2. Quit the function : Same to enter the function.(Monitor also quit shop mode when reset)

-. e-POP

1. When enter to Shop mode, e-pop OSD will display in the top left of the screen.
The different project correspond the different e-POP pattern.

2. e-POP display 30 seconds, and then disappear 10 seconds.

3. Press Menu Key, display Main OSD, and e-POP OSD disappear.

Connect the power cord for your monitor to the power port on the back of the monitor.

1. Product Overview (OSD Functions)

•Press one of the buttons on the monitor. OSD Guide will appear on the screen.

•If you press a button on the front of the monitor, an OSD Guide will display showing the
function of the button before the menu for the pressed button appears.

•To go to the menu, press the button on the front of the monitor again.

•OSD Guide may vary according to functions and models. Please refer to actual product.
1. Product Overview (OSD Functions)
ICON DESCRIPTION

Press this button to view the On Screen Display (OSD).

This button is also used to exit the OSD or to return to a higher-level OSD menu

* OSD Adjustment Lock

This function locks the OSD in order to maintain the current settings or to prevent the
MENU settings from being changed by another person

On: If you press and hold the MENU button down for 10 seconds, the OSD Adjustment
Lock function is activated.

Off: If you press and hold the MENU button down for 10 seconds again, the OSD
Adjustment Lock function is disabled.

Even if the OSD Adjustment Lock function is activated, users can adjust the brightness
and contrast and can set up the adjustment function assigned to the [ ].
Users can set the <Customized Key> to one of the following functions. If the user presses
the Customized Key [ ] after setting it, the configured function will be performed

•< Angle> - < Bright> - <Eco Saving> - <Image Size>

You can set the function of the Customized Key by selecting <SETUP&RESET > ->
<Customized Key> in the OSD.
1. Product Overview (OSD Functions)
ICON DESCRIPTION

Use these buttons to navigate the menu or to adjust a value in the OSD.

Use this button to control the brightness of the screen.

Use this button to select a function.

If you press the [ ] button when there is no OSD, the input signal (Analog/DVI or
Analog/ HDMI) is switched. When the input signal is switched by pressing [ ]
button or the product is turned on, a message displaying the selected input signal
appears at the top left of the screen.

This function is not available for products with an Analog interface only.
Press [AUTO] button to adjust the screen settings automatically

AUTO This function is only available in Analog mode.

If the resolution settings are changed in the Display Properties, the AUTO adjustment
function is performed.

ICON DESCRIPTION

Press this button to turn the product on or off

• The buttons on the right of the product are touch-type buttons.


• Touch the buttons lightly with your finger.

Power LED

This LED is turned on when the product works normally.

For more information on the power-saving function, refer to the power saving
function in More Information. When not using the product for a long time,
unplugging the power cord is recommended to minimize power consumption.
2. OSD Adjustment (Picture)

Menu Description

Controls the screen brightness.


Brightness
• This menu is unavailable when < Bright> is set to <Dynamic Contrast> mode.
• This menu is unavailable when <Eco Saving> is set.
Controls the contrast of the pictures displayed on the screen

• This menu is unavailable when < Bright> is set to <Dynamic Contrast> or


Contrast
<Cinema> mode.
• This menu is unavailable when < Color> is set to <Full> mode or
<Intelligent> mode.
2. OSD Adjustment (Picture)
Menu Description

Controls the clarity of details of pictures displayed on the screen

• This menu is unavailable when < Bright> is set to <Dynamic Contrast> or


Sharpness
<Cinema> mode.
• This menu is unavailable when < Color> is set to <Full> mode or
<Intelligent> mode.
Provides preset picture settings optimized for various user environments such as editing a
document, surfing the Internet, playing games, or movies and so on.
• <Custom>
If the preset picture modes are not sufficient, users can configure the <brightness> and
<Contrast> directly using this mode.
• <Standard>
This mode provides the picture setting appropriate for editing a document and surfing
the Internet (text + picture).
Bright • <Game>
This mode provides the picture setting appropriate for playing games that include lots
of graphics and that require a fast screen refresh rate.
• <Cinema>
This mode provides brightness and sharpness settings similar to those of a TV for the
best entertainment environment (movie, DVD, etc.).
• <Dynamic Contrast>
Controls the picture contrast automatically so that bright and dark pictures are balanced
overall.
2. OSD Adjustment (Picture)
Menu Description

When the external input is connected through HDMI and <PC/AV Mode> is set to <AV>,
< Bright> has four automatic picture settings (<Dynamic>, <Standard>, <Movie>
and <Custom>) that are preset at the factory. You can activate either Dynamic, Standard,
Movie or Custom. You can select Custom which automatically recalls your personalized
picture settings.

• <Dynamic>
Select this mode to view a sharper image than in Standard mode.
Bright • <Standard>
Select this mode when the surroundings are bright. This also provides a sharp image.
• <Movie>
Select this mode when the surroundings are dark. This will save power and reduce eye
fatigue.
• <Custom>
Select this mode when you want to adjust the image according to your preferences.

This menu is unavailable when < Angle> or <Eco Saving> is set.


2. OSD Adjustment (Picture)
Menu Description

This feature allows you to see optimal screen quality according to your viewing position.
When viewing the screen at an angle from below, above or the side of the monitor, by
setting the appropriate mode for each position you can obtain a similar picture quality as
viewing the screen directly from the front.

Set to <Off> when viewing directly in front of the screen.

• <Off> - Select when viewing from the front position.


• <Lean Back Mode1> - Select when viewing from a slightly lower position.
• <Lean Back Mode2> - Select when viewing from the lower position.
• <Standing Mode> -Select when viewing from the upper position.
• <Side Mode> - Select when viewing from the left or right position.
• <Group View> - Select when two or more persons view among , , position at the
Angle
same time.
• <Custom> -When <Custom> is selected, settings for <Lean Back Mode 1> is applied by
default. Users can set suitable picture quality as needed.

• This menu is unavailable when < Bright> is set to <Dynamic Contrast> or


<Cinema> mode.
• This menu is unavailable when < Color> is set.
2. OSD Adjustment (Picture)
Menu Description

Removes vertical noise lines (line pattern) from the screen.


The location of the screen may be changed after the adjustment. In this case, move the
screen so that the screen is displayed at the center of the display panel using the <H-
Coarse
Position> menu.

This function is only available in Analog mode.


Removes horizontal noise lines (line pattern) from the screen.
If you cannot remove the noise completely with the <Fine> function, adjust the <Coarse>
Fine and then use the <Fine> function again.

This function is only available in Analog mode.


Accelerates the response time of the panel faster than the original response time so that
moving pictures appear sharper and more natural.

• <Normal>
• <Faster>
Response Time • <Fastest>

• It is recommended setting the <Normal> or <Faster> when not viewing a movie.


• Monitor functions may vary according to models. Please refer to actual product.
• User can choose the optimal mode from <Normal> / <Faster> /
<Fastest> ,according to the different input video signal.
2. OSD Adjustment (Picture)
Menu Description

When watching with a DVD or set-top box connecting to the product via HDMI, image
quality deterioration (black level, lower-quality contrast, lighter color tone, etc.) may occur
depending on the connected external device.
HDMI Black
• <Normal>
Level
• <Low>

This function is active only when the external device is connected via <HDMI>. The
<HDMI Black Level> function may not be compatible with all external devices.
2. OSD Adjustment (Color)

Menu Description

Expresses natural colors more clearly without changing the picture quality using
proprietary digital picture quality improvement technology developed by Samsung
Electronics.

• <Off> - Turns the < Color> function off.


• <Demo> - You can compare the pictures processed by < Color> with the original
Color
pictures.
• <Full> - Provides a clearer picture including areas corresponding to skin color.
• <Intelligent> - Improves the chroma of pictures except for areas corresponding to skin
color.

This menu is unavailable when < Angle> is set.


2. OSD Adjustment (Color)
Menu Description

You can adjust the red color value of pictures according to your preference.
Red
This menu is unavailable when < Color> is set to <Full> mode or <Intelligent>
mode.
You can adjust the green color value of pictures according to your preference.
Green
This menu is unavailable when < Color> is set to <Full> mode or <Intelligent>
mode.
You can adjust the blue color value of pictures according to your preference.
Blue
This menu is unavailable when < Color> is set to <Full> mode or <Intelligent>
mode.
2. OSD Adjustment (Color)
Menu Description

You can set the color temperature according to your preference.

• <Cool 2> - Sets the color temperature of the screen to very cool.
• <Cool 1>- Sets the color temperature of the screen to cool.
• <Normal> - Sets the color temperature of the screen to the standard color temperature.
• <Warm 1> - Sets the color temperature of the screen to warm.
• <Warm 2> - Sets the color temperature of the screen to very warm.
Color Tone
• <Custom> - Select this menu to set the color temperature manually.

If you do not like the preset color temperatures, you can manually adjust the value of RGB.

• This menu is unavailable when < Color> is set to <Full> mode or


<Intelligent> mode.
• This menu is unavailable when < Angle> is set.
Using this menu, you can change the intensity of the colors of medium brightness.

Gamma • <Mode1> - <Mode2> - <Mode3>

This menu is unavailable when < Angle> is set.

(This is unavailable when < Bright> is set to <Dynamic Contrast> and <Cinema> mode.)
2. OSD Adjustment (SIZE&POSITION)

Menu Description

Moves the position of the display area on the screen horizontally.

H-Position • This function is only available in Analog mode.


• When a 720P, 1080i or 1080P signal is input in AV mode ,select <Screen Fit>to
adjust horizontal position in 0-6 levels.
Moves the position of the display area on the screen vertically.

V-Position • This function is only available in Analog mode.


• When a 720P, 1080i or 1080P signal is input in AV mode ,select <Screen Fit>to
adjust vertical position in 0-6 levels.
2. OSD Adjustment (SIZE&POSITION)
Menu Description

Supplied for the wide models only such as 16:9 or 16:10.

PC signals
• <Auto> - The picture is displayed at the aspect ratio of the input signal.
• <Wide> - The picture is displayed in full screen regardless of the aspect ratio of the
input signal.

• A signal not in the standard mode table is not supported.


• If the resolution is set to the optimal resolution, the aspect ratio does not change
Image Size whether the <Image Size> is set to <Auto> or <Wide>.

AV signals
• <4 : 3> - Displays pictures at the 4:3 aspect ratio.
• <16 : 9> - Displays pictures at the 16:9 aspect ratio.
• <Screen Fit> - If a 720P, 1080i or 1080P signal is input in HDMI/DVI input mode, the
picture is displayed as is without truncation.

This can only be set when the external input is connected through HDMI/DVI and
<PC/AV Mode> is set to <AV>.

You can adjust the horizontal position of the OSD.

2. OSD Adjustment (SETUP&RESET)

Menu Description

Use this function to restore the visual quality and color settings to the factory defaults.
Reset
• <Yes> - <No>
Select a language for the OSD.

Language

The selected language is only applied to the product OSD. This setting does not affect
the other functions of the PC.
2. OSD Adjustment (SETUP&RESET)
Menu Description

This function provides user a low power mode which is realized by lowering the current of
the display panel.

• <75%>
When <75%> is selected, the power consumption is about 75% of default setting.
Eco Saving • <50%>
When <50%> is selected, the power consumption is about 50% of default setting.
• <Off>
When <Off> is selected, the function is turned Off .

This menu is unavailable when < Bright> is set to <Dynamic Contrast> mode.
You can turn the Off Timer on or off.

• <Off> - <On>
Turns the power off automatically when the configured time is reached.

Menu Description

Controls the repeat delay of a button.


Key Repeat
You can set to <Acceleration>, <1 sec> or <2 sec>. If <No Repeat> is selected, the

• <Auto> - The monitor automatically selects an input signal.
• <Manual> - Users have to manually select an input signal.

Not applicable to analog (D-SUB)-or-digital (DVI)-dedicated models.
The OSD automatically disappears if no action is taken by the user.
Display Time You can determine the time to wait before the OSD is hidden.
• <5 sec> - <10 sec> - <20 sec> - <200 sec>

Menu You can select the transparency of the OSD.

4. Assembly and Disassembly
Caution : 1. Turn the monitor off before beginning the disassembly process.
2. When disassembling the monitor, do not use any metal tools except for the provided jig.
3. Disassemble the monitor carefully as directed in the following procedures.

1. Set custom mode as follows before beginning a repair.

• Resolution: 1920 x 1080


• H-frequency: 67.5 kHz
• V-frequency: 60 Hz

2. If the screen is blank, check whether the power cord is connected correctly.

3. Check the following circuits.

• When the raster does not appear: The Function PCB, Main PCB
• When 5V is generated but a blank screen is displayed: Main PCB

4. Press the MENU button and hold down the, “ (Enter/Source)” button for more than five (5) seconds to
factory reset.

Symptom : -. When turning on the Power button after connecting the power, the LED at the
front of the monitor does not operate.
Major Checkpoints: -. Check the IC600 power fuse and IC600 output power.
-. Check the connections for the CN600 and the Main board.
-. Check the main board power part and also check whether there is any abnormal
output at other output terminals.

1. Enter the DDC EDID data when the AD board is replaced.
2. Download the DDC input program and the DDC file that corresponds to the model from the Quality Depart
ment of Samsung and install it using a jig as shown in the figure below, and then enter the data.
