This ENGAGEMENT CONTRACT is made and entered into as of

the 14th day of May 2018, between currently


residingat,_____________________________________________
, herein referred to as “Client”, and Attorney-at-Law, herein
referred to as “Counsel”. Both are collectively referred to as
“PARTIES.”

CONDITIONS
This Contract will not take effect, and Counsel will have no
obligation to provide legal services, until Client returns a signed
copy of this Contract and pays the legal fees. 

SCOPE AND DUTIES


Client hires Counsel to provide the following legal services in the
2018 Barangay Elections:
 General advice with respect to Client’s legal concerns on the
day of the election;

 Legal assistance and physical presence on the day of the


election;

 Legal representation in matters concerning the client on the


day of the election.

LEGAL FEES
 Client, in retaining the legal services of the Counsel, agrees
to pay the latter a fixed amount of Ten Thousand Pesos
(Php10,000);
 Any other fees that may be reasonably incurred by the
Counsel in relation to the 2018 Barangay Elections, as well
as those rational expenses arising from this engagement.

DISCHARGE AND WITHDRAWAL


Client may discharge Counsel at any time.  Counsel may withdraw
with Client’s consent or for good cause.  Good cause includes
Client’s breach of this Contract, Client’s refusal to cooperate with
Counsel or to follow the same’s advice on a material matter or any
other fact or circumstance that would render Counsel’s continuing
representation unlawful or unethical.
CONCLUSION OF SERVICES
When Counsel’s services conclude, all unpaid charges shall
become immediately due and payable.  After Counsel’s services
conclude, the same will, upon Client’s request, deliver Client’s file
to Client, along with any Client funds or property in Counsel’s
possession.
This Engagement Contract shall expire on the day of May 15, 2018
unless renewed or upon the accomplishment of the objective
provided for in the Scope and Duties Clause, whichever comes
first.

DISCLAIMER OF GUARANTEE
Nothing in this Contract and nothing in Counsel’s statements to
Client will be construed as a promise or guarantee about the
favorable outcome of Client’s matter.  Counsel makes no such
promises or guarantees.  Counsel’s comments about the outcome
of Client’s matter are expressions of opinion only.

DISCLAIMER OF JUDICIAL OR QUASI-JUDICIAL


REPRESENTATION

It is understood that this engagement shall in no way create a


responsibility against the Counsel to represent the Client in any
criminal or civil proceedings arising from or in relation to the 2018
Barangay Elections.

This Agreement is entered into in accordance with the Philippine


Law and will apply to any questions relating to the meaning of any
provision of this Agreement.
