Thank you very much for taking the time to review my application. I hope that this
Statement of Purpose will find you well. I am writing today to supplement my application for a
position in the entering class of Linnaeus University with a keen interest in pursuing a master’s
Degree in Economics. This May, I hope to get Degree from Linnaeus University in Economics,
as one of the top students in the class.
Economics is the study of how societies, governments, businesses, households, and individuals
allocate their scarce resources. This discipline has two important features. First, it develops
conceptual models of behavior to predict responses to changes in policy and market conditions.
Second, it uses rigorous statistical analysis to investigate these changes. Economists are well
known for advising the president and congress on economic issues, formulating policies at the
Federal Reserve Bank, and analyzing economic conditions for investment banks, brokerage
houses, real estate companies, and other private sector businesses. They also contribute to the
development of many other public policies including health care, welfare, and school reform and
efforts to reduce inequality, pollution and crime. The study of economics can also provide
valuable knowledge for making decisions in everyday life. It offers a tool with which to
approach questions about the desirability of a particular financial investment opportunity,
whether or not to attend college or graduate school, the benefits and costs of alternative careers,
and the likely impacts of public policies including universal health care and a higher minimum
wage. The complementary study of econometrics, the primary quantitative method used in the
discipline, enables the students to become critical consumers of statistically based arguments
about numerous public and private issues rather than passive recipients unable to sift through the
statistics. Such knowledge enables to ask whether the evidence on the desirability of a particular
policy, medical procedure, claims about the likely future path of the economy, or many other
issues is really compelling or whether it simply sounds good but falls apart upon closer
inspection.
There for looking at the significance of Economics, I am being a student of Commerce have an
aim to achieve a great height in this field. By reading the course curriculum available online, I
have found that the subject matter covered will best suit my career goals. Similarly, the prospect
of participating in such a program is an excellent way to observe divergent information and as
well as build upon my cultural cognizance.
Also, my background will also add to the diversity of the class. I am eager to gain exposure to a
diverse and international group of classmates at Linnaeus University as well as their insight on
the industry they have worked. I look forward to sharing my experience and a dynamic class
room environment with them. It would be a great pleasure and honor for me if given a chance to
pursue my studies at Linnaeus University. If given an opportunity to do master’s, I assure that

my work would not fall short of your expectations. I hope that you will find me a deserving and

I completed B.com degree from Govt. Commerce College Noshehra one of the most renewed
and reputed colleges in our region which is affiliated to Abdul Wali Khan University, Mardan
during secession 2013. After that I completed M.com Degree from Abasyn University with an
overall 2.85 CGPA during secession 2016. I received quite good education there My interest in
Business and commerce from the beginning has encouraged me to choose Economincs as my
area of specialization.
The days of my undergraduate study in commerce at Govt. Commerce College Noshehra and
Abasyn University helped me a lot to get sound knowledge and firm grasps over the underlying
principles of the field of Economics. I studied the subjects like

These subjects and other related subjects and equipped me with the necessary prerequisites for a
formal course.
During my degree, I was a very active student in many facets of my student life. I was
outstanding both at academic courses and extracurricular activities. I was among the best five in
a class of 30. I completed a number of college assignments given by the subject instructor of
different courses throughout the course. Similarly, I participated in different team projects on
different topics around my student life, working sometime as the team leader and sometime as
the member of the team. This gave me an outlet to apply theoretical knowledge in a practical
setting and also sparked my interest in Market Research. Further to this I remained engaged in
university affairs by volunteering for the Student Ambassador program. In this program, my
duties varied from taking prospective students on tours, introducing and guiding guests of honor,
and speaking to different organizations regarding our college. Furthermore, I was highly
committed to the development of our College Cricket Club. Taking over the Cricket Club
committee in my first semester I had plans on developing the club to be a self-sustaining, award-
winning, and socially interactive club. Forming a committee of Cricket enthusiasts, our club
achieved all of the aforementioned goals within the duration of my degree and were awarded
numerous accolades. Lastly, with all of the responsibilities at hand, I remained vigilant with my
academic performance.
As a step to my goals, I have worked with several organization to gain practical knowledge. I
have worked as Assistant Accountant with Shahzaman Group of Companies from 2013 to 2014.
During this period, I acquired great deal of knowledge regarding accountancy and management.
Then I worked as Accounts Manager in Telecommunication industry from 2017 to 2018. while
working in this position- I was diligent about setting goals and striving to meet them on time.
There was a time when my department failed to meet the expected quota- and I take
responsibility for that failure. I believe that I pushed my team too hard to meet deadlines- instead
of taking time to cheer them on for their accomplishments. In retrospect- I feel learned that
employees need to be nurtured in a professional capacity in order to be as productive as possible.

I learned to break goals into smaller segments and offer incentives and rewards to the hardest
workers. Thus, this position flourished my leadership and management experience. During all
my working experience, I learned how to be flexible and responsible and how to work in a team
and individually to achieve the desired goals.
With all of my experience listed, I am in search of bringing my career to the next level. The
subjects offered in this program are specifically in line with my professional goals. Additionally,
the mandatory study abroad provides a great grounding in which to further experience divergent
cultures and exchange knowledge. I am certain that the knowledge and skills learnt from my
professional experience, university, and extracurricular activities would make me a valuable
addition to the Master of Economics. There for I wish to earn this degree at Linnaeus University
and intend to follow this up with a doctoral degree, and later a career in research and
development. I am certain that getting degree from Linnaeus University will prepare me for a
bright future ahead.
After having research in Economics websites and discussed and my professors and friends about
of choice of University, I have no doubt that Linnaeus University is the appropriate place to
pursue my further studies, since it will provide me not only and opportunity to attend classes that
are taught by the well qualified staff and professionally qualified instructors with rich industrial
research, practical knowledge and consultancy experience, but also the soft-skills that will be
needed to become an outstanding student and researcher in the field. Linnaeus University close
links with industry and extensive research links with companies will enable me to apply the
knowledge and theory to the real practices through the project works. Linnaeus University focus
on a corporate project will enable me to put my knowledge into direct practice as well as to
develop professional contacts for future employments in the world marketplace. My carefully
planned career path and professional and personal experiences in combination with Linnaeus
University will ensure that I am successful in my next career.
