• Prepaid meter solution is a combination of

Prepaid module.
• The prepaid meters works on the principle
of credit amount balance. Once it reaches
zero the electric supply is disconnected with
the help of internal relay.

• The meter will trip whenever the load of
the user exceeds the contract/
sanctioned load. This can be set in kVA
through the software.

a. Local fixed ip
In their residential computers which are in the same ip range as SmartComm EMS
PC, they can login in their individual meter logins and access energy consumption,
recharge history or raise complaints to Facility Management.
b. Public static ip
The ip of the PC in which SmartComm EMS is installed should be configured for
public static ip. Every tenant can login to android based SmartComm Prepaid
Solutions app through which a plethora of options will be available

Analytics for user
• Dashboard with daily trends, average monthly consumption, average monthly
cost, current prepaid balance and expected next recharge in days. These
inputs help the user to keep a track on the energy spends.
• Live updates in present load in kW, EB and DG reading
• Trends of last 7 days, last 30 days and even custom date. Moreover, if meter
has digital inputs from water or gas then the unit consumption will be
displayed
Analytics for user
• Online recharge through Paytm. This helps in minimum latency compared to
conventional methods of token.
• Entire recharge history is available.
• Bills and goals for the user to keep a target for energy bills and present status
wrt to the target.

• LoRa -> Long Range
• LPWAN stands for Low Power Wide Area
Network and this type of wireless
communication is designed for sending small
data packages over long distances, operating on
a battery.
• There are a number of competing technologies in
LPWAN space such as LoRa, Narrowband IoT (Nb-
IoT), Sigfox, etc
• LoRa follows 802.15.4g IEEE standard

• Uses 865 MHz ISM bands
• No need for licensing as the power and frequency
matches with the government regulations.
• Wide coverage of 1 – 1.5 km
• Single LoRa Gateway is designed to take care of
100s of end devices or nodes*
• Easy to deploy due to simple architecture
• It uses Adaptive Data rate technique to vary output data rate
and Tx power of end devices. This helps in maximizing battery
life as well as overall capacity of LoRAWAN network.
• Important: ADR should only be used for static devices
(devices that do not move)!
It means that it works with very high frequency when it is
closer to gateway but works with reduced data rate as the
distance increases.
