CICM IN THE WORLD
This chapter deals with the different aspects of the CICM
missionary presence
It considers each one’s own accent:
1. Europe, there is a search for missionary integration.
2. Africa, the accent is on communion and solidarity.
3. Asia, the emphasis is on evangelization and attempts
to dialogue with the great religions of the region.
4. America, the accent is on solidarity in the struggle for
liberation.
I. INSPIRE WORD OF GOD
JESUS, THE GOOD SHEPERD (Jn. 10:10)
Reflection: The gospel is about how God live his life which is
to be a servant to everyone, he wanted to save people so he
went to different places to spread the word of God.
Discussion:
The mission of Jesus is a mission of love and service to
humanity and the whole of creation.
It is a self-giving love that entailed much sacrifice - his
life MAKES HIM THE good shepherd.
The father’s life flows into Jesus and later flows into his
friends.
The Church today continues the mission by bringing the
Gospel of God to God’s children on different parts of the
world.
II. CHURCH TEACHING
Evangelii Nuntiandi states:
“For the Church, evangelizing means bringing the
Good News into all the strata of humanity, and through
its influence transforming humanity.
Preaching of Gospel in wider Geograpic Areas.
Missionary engagement and their concern are:
1. to serve the poorest,
2. to struggle with them and for them, so that the poor
may live a liberated life, in dignity and solidarity.
The CICM missionaries commits to the same mission of
bringing the gospel from around the world.
It’s a radical availability that could take even the highest
sacrifice of one’s life for the cause of the mission.
All the missionaries are trained to serve on different parts.
