TWILIGHT SAGA VS. VAMPIRE DIARIES

Nowadays, a popular subject for movies and books are vampires


and werewolves. I’m not a big fan of werewolves, so I am about to write
something about 2 intriguing books which had a huge success. This
“blood sucking” literature is pretty catchy, as we all seen in the very
popular TV series “Vampire diaries” or the “Twilight” saga.
In the beginning , these were bestsellers and after the huge success
of the books, the TV production went on. So, I’m about to compare
these 2 series of books : the “Twilight “ saga and “Vampire diaries”,
which today are both TV productions known and loved worldwide.
The Twilight saga can be considered one of the biggest hit in the
contemporary literature because after the J.K.Rowling’s “Harry Potter”,
it was one of the most important chapter written in the SF literature. An
intriguing plt, a strong love story between Isabella "Bella" Swan, a
teenage girl who moves to Forks, Washington, and falls in love with a
104-year-old vampire named Edward Cullen.
The series is told primarily from Bella's point of view, with the
epilogue of Eclipse and Part II of Breaking Dawn being told from the
viewpoint of character Jacob Black, a werewolf. People are prone to
what is beyond this world, and the author, Stephanie Meyer brought to
life a unique case of forbidden love.

The Vampire Diaries is a supernatural drama television series


developed by Kevin Williamson and Julie Plec, based on the book series
of the same name written by L. J. Smith. The series takes place in
Mystic Falls, Virginia, a fictional small town haunted by supernatural
beings. The series narrative follows the protagonist Elena Gilbert (Nina
Dobrev) as she falls in love with vampire Stefan Salvatore (Paul
Wesley) and is drawn into the supernatural world as a result. As the
series progresses, Elena finds herself drawn to Stefan's brother Damon
Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder) resulting in a love triangle. As the narrative
develops in the course of the series, the focal point shifts on the
mysterious past of the town involving Elena's malevolent doppelgänger
Katerina Petrova. Ironically, Katerina was the love of both Damon and
Stefan Salvatore many years ago. Upon her return along with the family
of Original Vampires, have all led to many plots against Elena and
Mystic Falls.
Between these two series of books, I personally choose the
Twilight saga because it had a big impact on me, being something new ,
a new type of literature, poorly developed before this saga. First, I have

read the books and after I watched the movies and I was surprised to see
that the movies respect the original scenery perfectly. The Vampire
Diaries, is also pretty catchy but the plot is over complicated, and the
true essence of the story is lost between scenes of fight and detailed
descriptions.
