Lesson Plan in Mathematics Iv

The lesson plan teaches students how to determine missing terms in number sequences by identifying the pattern between terms, such as adding or subtracting a constant value. Students practice filling in missing terms in various number sequences through group activities and an individual evaluation. The teacher evaluates that the objective of understanding patterns in sequences was achieved based on students successfully completing the assessment.

LESSON PLAN IN MATHEMATICS IV

I. OBJECTIVE :
At the end of the lesson the pupils should be able to:
 Determine the missing term in a sequence of numbers.
II. SUBJECT MATTER:
A. Topic: Determine the missing term/s in a sequence of numbers.
B. Reference: k-12 Grade 4 Mathematics book
C. Materials: Drawings of pattern, chart, visual aids and green board.
III. PROCEDURE:
A. TEACHERS ACTIVITY PUPILS ACTIVITY
Greetings
-Good morning Good morning ma'am, good morning
class! classmates its nice to see you again.

1.Drill
I have here an exercise on filling in
the missing shapes/numbers to
complete the patterns. You are
going to draw/write the answers
on the chart.

1.😊😊😐😊😊😐😊😊 😐
2.🌟🌟⭐🌟🌟⭐ 🌟🌟

4.🔶🔶🔷🔶🔶🔷🔶🔶 🔷

2.Review
The teacher will ask :
-what was our lesson yesterday -Our lesson yesterday ma'am is all
class? about odd and even numbers.

-what are odd numbers? -odd numbers ma’am are those

numbers cannot be divided by two.
-Very good!

-how about even numbers? -even numbers are numbers that can
be divided by two or have pairs.

-ok class, Very good!

B. LESSON PROPER

1.MOTIVATION:
Let’s have a game class called “Snow
ball” I will do the first one the next will
be the last person to receive the ball,
then after doing his part another
classmate to continue and so on.

Teacher: by 3s from 9 to 24 (The pupils start the game)

Pupil # 1: by 4s from 8 to 32
Pupil # 2: by 5s from 15 to 45

-Have you tried answering a number -No, ma'am

pattern with missing term?

-ok, odd and even numbers are used in

number pattern.

2.PRESENTATION:
Our lesson for today class is all about
determining the missing terms in a
number sequence.

3.DISCUSSION:
A Sequence is a set of numbers in a
particular order or pattern.

A list of numbers arranged in a row is

called a number sequence.

A sequence follow a particular

order/pattern. (The pupils listen carefully to the
teachers discussion)
17,___, 25, 29, ___, 37

-look at the sequence of numbers.

-We are given this sequence and we
have two missing terms.

- So if we can identify the pattern for this

sequence, we could use it to find those
missing term.

- To find the missing term/s in a number

sequence, we must first look for its
pattern.
-This pattern is increasing, we should be
able to add or multiply something. Get
the difference between 25-29=4 so now
we get the pattern by adding 4 each
time to get the next term in the
sequence.
17 + 4= 21✔
21 + 4= 25
25 + 4= 29
29 + 4= 33✔
33 + 4= 37
-so our pattern is correct by adding 4,
and our missing terms are 21 and 33.
- the sequence of numbers is in
decreasing order.
45, 37, 29,___, ___, 5 Get the difference
bet. 45 & 37. In like manner with 37 &
29, the difference is 8. The missing terms
are 21 & 13 since 13 is 8 more than the
last term which is 5.
4.DEVELOPMENTAL ACTIVITIES:

I have here a situation. No one will

answer yet because I will be grouping
you into 3 groups.

-write your answer in a bond paper and

Mr. Villaflor presented this number to
post it on the board.
his Math class.

a. the
- ok, all 3, 6, 9,groups
12, ___, got
___ the correct
b. 4, 8, 12, 16, ___, ___
answer. Lets do the “wow clap” for Solution:
c. 6, 12, 18, 24, ___, ___
everybody. 3,6,9,12,15,18
4,8,12,16,20,24
5.GENERALIZATION : 612,18,24,30,36

- Do you understand now class?

- How do you find the missing terms in a

number sequence?

- ok very good! Answer, again to find the

missing term look for its pattern and use
the difference between terms.

-yes, maam

- to find the missing term use the

difference between terms.
6.ENRICHMENT:
The teacher will post a chart. (Pupils who have called write their
Answer the following: Find the missing answers on the chart)
terms.
1. 10,20,34,48,64,___, 102 82
2. 5,7,11,17,25,___ 35
3. 7,14,21,28,35,___ 42
4. 1,2,4,8,___, 32 16
5. 23,25,27,___, ___, 33 29,31

IV. EVALUATION:
To make sure that you have
already understand our lesson.
Get ½ sheet of paper and answer
the following.

Find the missing terms in the

given number sequence.

1. 33,35,__, 39,__, 43 37,41

2. 41,__, 51,56,__, 66 46,61
3. 45,37,29,__, __, 5 21,13
4. 25,24,__, 19,__, 10 22,15
5. 27,__, 16,__9,7,6 21,12

V. ASSIGNMENT:
Fill in the blanks with its missing
term.

1.45,46,__, 48,__, 50
2.67,__, 65,__, 63,__
3.2,7,__, __, 22,27
4.35,38,__, 44,__50
5.51,46,41,__,__, 26

VI. REMARKS:

Excellent out of my 40 pupils,

there were 40 pupils who pass
the evaluation. My objective
and evaluation jive that make
me an effective teacher.
