This document discusses a major fire incident and strategies for fire prevention and suppression. It considers why the incident may have been considered one of the worst fires in the world due to its potential to damage surroundings and claim lives. Secondary explosions from accumulated dust or nearby flammable materials could make a fire worse. There is a chance fires can be prevented through safety practices like keeping flammables away from heat sources and having fire extinguishers available. Maintaining fire equipment and promptly addressing potential electrical or gas issues can help suppress fires before they worsen.

CDI 106 (Fire Tech.

and Arson Investigation)

Raiman J. Garuda

1. Why the incident was considered one of the most worst fire incident in the world?
Considering fire incident as the worst incident in the world in such manner that it involves
smoke, heat and flames that has a potential to cause damage anything surrounds not only by depriving
the lives of people but also the space where everything would collapsed and turn into ashes and this
kind of disaster impatiently and voraciously almost anything it touches which is very difficult to control.

2. What are the scenarios made the incident became worst?

The scenario made the fire incident worst when if there’s a dust in the area, the primary
explosion will cause that dust to become airborne. Then, the dust cloud itself can ignite, causing a
secondary explosion that can be many times the size and severity of the primary explosion. If enough
dust has accumulated, these secondary explosions have the potential to bring down entire facilities,
causing immense damage and fatalities. Another one is that, when an area has a flammable liquids and
gases near the premises of the said incident, there is a possibility to adapt the fire into it and that
would result to explosions of those flammable materials, such as rocket fuel (which produces a
flammable gas), acrylic acid and crude oil.

3. In your opinion, is there a possibility that the fire incident was prevented? In fire occurrence, is
there a chance of suppressing it before getting worst? Offer solutions to problems cited base on
the incident and explain why you need to implement those?
There is a possibility that the fire incident be prevented by practicing safety habits
specifically in the kitchen area such as it is frequently where fire starts and deserves a little extra
attention. Be sure all the items that are flammable away from garments or items such as curtains, rags,
or cloth and keep it in a safe place. Don’t leave all the flammable things unattended and keep a fire
extinguisher on hand in the kitchen in case of grease fires or other emergencies. A maintenance and
improvement of fire-fighting equipment is really a need.
In fire occurrence, there is a chance of suppressing it before getting worst by putting a fire
extinguisher on it also a piece of wet cloth can also do to stop the fire by putting it unto the fire.
Here are the solutions to a fire incident and why to implement them:
1. Fire safety- keep all fires and heaters well guarded, specially open fires. For fitted or portable
heaters with a built in guard, give extra protection by adding a surrounding guard particularly if
you have young children or older people in home. Fire can start suddenly and spread quickly,
damaging your home and furniture and putting lives in danger.
2. Electrical safety- do not use appliances with worn or damaged flexes. If an appliance appears
faulty, stop using it and have it checked at once. Many accidents and fatalities involve electricity,
it must be treated with respect.
3. Heating and cooking- check the pilot regularly on gas cookers and water heaters to make sure ir
has not gone out. If you suspect a leak, open the windows, turn off the supply. Don’t operate
switches as park could ignite the gas. Always keep special watch on young children and elderly
people when fires and heaters are in use such that, safety is especially important when choosing
and using heating products.
