• The installation technician need to use a Local Management Web GUI to provide the primary
configuration necessary for the iBridge to make initial contact with Netspan:

• iBridge IP Address: Management IP configuration for the iBridge 2 suitable for local network
environment.
• Netspan IP Address: IP address of the Netspan NMS trap sever to permit iBridge to make
contact with the NMS.
• Radio Configuration: Radio configuration to establish the radio link between the iBridge 2
devices including antenna alignment.

• Once the iBridge has made contact with the NMS, all further routine management is performed by
the NMS.

physically install the iBridge 2 units, provide each
unit with a basic configuration, establish an initial
radio link and then tune the radio link to obtain an
operational signal strength.

IPv6 Link Local address calculation steps (starting from MAC address)
Step Example

1 Write down the MAC address of the unit 39-A7-94-07-CB-D0

Split the MAC address into two halves and
2 39-A7-94-FF-FE-07-CB-D0
insert FF-FE in the middle
Convert the two hexadecimal digits at the 39-A7-94-FF-FE-07-CB-D0
3 00111001-A7-94-FF-FE-07-CB-D0
start of the string to binary
Invert the value of the 7th bit of the binary
4 00111011-A7-94-FF-FE-07-CB-D0
string
Convert the binary digits at the start of the 00111011-A7-94-FF-FE-07-CB-D0
5 3B-A7-94-FF-FE-07-CB-D0
string back to hexadecimal
Combine the hexadecimal digit pairs into 3B-A7-94-FF-FE-07-CB-D0
6 3BA7-94FF-FE07-CBD0
4-digit groups
Replace dash (-) separators with colon (:) 3BA7-94FF-FE07-CBD0
7 3BA7:94FF:FE07:CBD0
separators
8 Append FE80:: at the start of the string FE80::3BA7:94FF:FE07:CBD0
For 39-A7-94-07-CB-D0 MAC address, the derived link local address used for initial
