& Dependable Service

S i n c e 1 9 3 3.
HISTORY. Dixie Iron Works, a privately held business, began as a small oilfield machine shop in
Longview, Texas in 1933. Mr. Frank W. Ussery, the original owner, moved the company to South Texas in
1939 and Dixie has been at the same location for over 60 years. The company rapidly grew into the
very best oilfield repair machine shop in South Texas and by 1974 its capabilities and skilled craftsmen
were known and respected all over the Southwest.

In 1974 the ownership of the company changed hands for the first time. With a new owner, Joseph C.
Merritt, Dixie began a period of change and rapid growth. In 1987, after several years of manufacturing
high pressure flow control products for a small start-up company known as Manifold Systems Incorporated
(MSI), Mr. Merritt bought 100 percent of MSI and added it to Dixie’s repair & machining services.

During the early 90’s, Dixie received ISO 9001 certification, demonstrating a level of commitment to
systematic quality that few in its industry can match. During the late 90’s, Dixie eliminated paperwork on the
shop floor by installing a tailored computer system. The advantages to Dixie of this move are many, but the most
important is the continuous improvement of customer service levels.

In 2000, after witnessing unprecedented growth in its product lines, Dixie terminated the oilfield repair
operations of the company, bringing a tight focus on its high pressure plug valves, fittings, chokes,
manifolds, and well service pumps for the oil & gas industry.

Gerard Danos came to Dixie in 1991 after graduating from Rice University. In 2001, Gerard became
President of Dixie/MSI and his leadership has helped take the company from a general repair shop to a
company known around the globe for producing quality oilfield equipment. In 2003, Dixie changed hands
for its second time when Mr. Danos became the owner of Dixie Iron Works, Ltd. and today Dixie continues
to grow and preserve its strong tradition of quality, service, and respect for its customers and employees.

SERVICE. Since its beginning as a general oilfield machine shop in 1933, Dixie Iron Works, Ltd. has
established a well-known reputation in the oilfield for prompt and reliable service.

Today, MSI fully understands the value of the same service and customer satisfaction that has been our
tradition for over 70 years. MSI has made service the keystone of our company to ensure that our
customers get the answers and solutions they need, when they need them. We make sure that service
issues are dealt with immediately and that replacement equipment and spare parts are delivered with as
little delay as possible. When necessary, MSI will provide an on-site technical expert to address issues
in the field.
ENGINEERING. Dixie’s Engineering Department has the most technologically advanced tools available
for design and product simulations. The engineering department has the ability to run Finite Element Analysis,
Dynamic Motion Analysis, and Computational Fluid Dynamics.

Product designing at Dixie encompasses part models, assembles, drawing details and simulations
of working conditions on equipment. All of this is done in the 3-D environment before production is ever
started. Additionally, the same models used in the design process are the same ones used by
manufacturing to write the CNC code for the machining centers.

The Engineering Department is also linked to the company intranet so that all processes are handled in a
paperless format. This paperless system allows the Engineering Department to process designs and drawings
at a rate that is over two times faster than with paper processes.

QI-1000 — MSI Products is proud to introduce the newest and largest compact style plunger
pump, the QI-1000 well service compact pump. Our 1000 horsepower quintaplex plunger pump is suited for
acidizing, cementing, gravel packing, coil tubing, frac and well stimulation services. The QI-1000 is currently
the highest horsepower rated pump capable of being mounted in a back to back configuration and staying
within standard DOT regulation widths. Yet, at less than 7000 pounds, it is the lightest 1000 horsepower pump
on the market.
MSI QI-1000 GENERAL SPECIFICATIONS
Rated Brake Horse Power: 1000 Maximum Rod Load (lbs): 100,000
Plunger Sizes: 2-3/4” to 4-1/2” Dry Weight: 6950
Gear Ratio: 4.6:1 Stroke Length: 6

TI-2500 — MSI Products is proud to introduce the TI-2500 Well Stimulation Pump. We designed
this pump for the well stimulation (Frac) industry. The TI-2500 has higher rod load capability than other Frac
pumps in the industry. The higher rod load capability was accomplished by designing larger journal bearings
and using higher load carrying roller bearings. We designed this pump with a single side gear box for a
specific reason. Since the bull gear is fully supported by the gearbox, we eliminated a 38,000 foot pound
bending force from the crankshaft that is inherent in a dual bull gear arrangement. We also eliminated stay bolts
from the design. The fluid end is fully supported by the power end, which results in better alignment between the crosshead bores and the plunger packing.
The bolts used to attach the fluid end to the power frame are high strength bolts with bolt load indicators manufactured into the bolts. This allows for
in-service monitoring of bolt torque condition. It also allows proper tightening without relying on torque wrenches. All components of the pump were designed
using Finite Element Analysis to assure long pump life. The result is a very rugged, heavy duty frac pump with a weight the same or lower than competitors’
2000 horsepower range pumps! The TI-2500, as with all our pumps, comes from the factory fully run in, and tested, ready to mount on your truck and go
to work. This pump, again like all our pumps, comes with all the tools required for normal maintenance, as well as your choice of suction manifolds, discharge
flanges and with or without a gage connection.
