A very good afternoon to all of you.
It really gives me great pleasure to deliver
you a speech today on maintaining healthy lifestyle. Put on your thinking cap; try
asking yourself, have you been on healthy diets? Have you gotten sufficient rest
each day? Or even, have you been performing healthy lifestyle by doing sports
regularly? Your answer lies with yourself. A healthy lifestyle boosts your energy,
improves your mental outlook and enhances your quality of life. Regardless of your
current health, you can begin making positive lifestyle changes today. Maintaining a
healthy lifestyle does not mean an overnight transformation. Gradually integrate
healthy lifestyle choices into your normal daily routine. These small changes will add
up to big results - a long, healthy life.
To maintain a healthy lifestyle, start with a healthy diet. Avoid eating
processed and refined foods. Consume foods in their natural state, whenever
possible. Avoid bad fats found in whole dairy products, partially hydrogenated
cooking oils and fatty meats. Get carbohydrates and fibre from whole grains. Include
healthy sources of protein such as lean meat, fish, nuts and legumes. Drink plenty of
water and eliminate high-fructose carbonated beverages and juices. You should also
Avoid eating too much sweet or salty food. Normally, these sweet or salty food are
not healthy food because of the excessive salt and sugar content in the food product.
Nevertheless, after a prolonged period of time having such bad eating habits, it shall
direct us to diseases such as diabetes and high blood pressure. It has been kid’s
nature to love tasty food without having any healthy eating mindset. As we’re older,
change our diet by cutting down on sugar and salt food products starting from today!
It would definitely be a healthier lifestyle with a longer lifespan.
Other than that, Regular exercise is as important as healthy food habits, to
maintain a competent lifestyle. Some people eat well, but avoid working out. The
benefits of exercise have been proved time and again and don't need any further
advocacy. If your working schedule is too hectic to allow you any time for exercise,
try to find other ways of working out. For instance, shun the elevators and climb up
the stairs to your office. You can also walk till the market, rather than rolling out your
car every time you want to buy something.
You should also avoid bad habits such as smoking and do regular check-ups.
It's no secret that nicotine use has been linked to a variety of life-threatening
illnesses, from cancer to heart disease and stroke. If you're a smoker, make quitting
your top priority. You also have to think of your doctor as an ally who helps keep you
well, not just the person who treats you when you're sick. Regular check-ups and
screenings are vital, especially if you or your family are predisposed to certain
medical conditions.
Maintaining a healthy lifestyle will become impossible with a lack of proper
sleep. Never compromise with your sleeping hours, under any circumstance. Less
sleep hampers your efficiency by making you feel lazy and inactive. Try to establish a
fixed bed time routine and follow it religiously. You should get up in the morning
feeling fresh and active, raring to go!
You should also avoid stress to maintain a healthy lifestyle. No matter how
busy you keep, take a breather once in a while, to rejuvenate your mind and
recharge your batteries. Life, especially in the present times, is too demanding and
challenging, and as such, it becomes important to relax. Chill out to de-stress
yourself. To maintain a lifestyle that is healthy, it is important to feel happy and
stress-free. You can also go on occasional vacations, to dump all your worries aside
and get on with the fun in life.
In the run up to a healthy lifestyle, we often fail to prioritize, rather organize our
activities well. You may want to incorporate some form of exercise in your daily
routine, but end up completing some other important task in your scheduled workout
time. Always remember that an organized lifestyle is a competent lifestyle.
Systematize your tasks and get rid of the habit to procrastinate. There is nothing like
a well-arranged day, to live a healthy life.
Creating a healthy lifestyle doesn't have to mean drastic changes. In fact,
drastic changes almost always lead to failure. Making small changes in how you live
each day can lead to big rewards, so figure out what you can to be healthy today.
