TURNING-OVER OF THE KEY OF LEARNING

Grade 10 President:
This lovely evening of 15th of February in the year 2018 will be one of the most memorable events of our
life, the integral part of our high school experiences – the Promenade Ball.
In four years of stay in our beloved Alma Mater, the San Nicolas National High School, our Junior High
School life here will soon come to an end. This is the realization that we are leaving JHS in the days to come. We,
Grade 10, will take an important step into a new stage of our life where greater challenge lies ahead.
Grade 9, you are the inheritors of the strong and proud legacy of our school. Being the next batch of Grade
10, you will continue the cycle of learning and high school life. On your shoulders lie the responsibility of being the
role model where underclass men will look upon to you as their big brothers and sisters. You will continue our
unfinished tasks as we sail to discover new world. Juniors, strive to hone your skills and traits of being the leader
and role model of the younger students of our school.
Respect and utilize also the wisdom and learning that you have learned from us, from our experiences and
successes because we have come before you and had crossed this difficult stage of being the Grade 10.
Fellow Grade 10, who invested me with responsibilities as being the class leader, in this juncture, it is my
honor and privilege to pass on to you, Grade 9, the key of learning. We have done our part and it is now the time to
relinquished it on to you. This key bears the weight of task. Put it on, and carry its weight, and go on with the
journey. We knew that you are willing and able to continue the cycle of work that we are going to left behind.
This turning over of the key does not mean that we turned our back toward the school. It only marks the
beginning of our greater responsibility and deeper learning towards our Alma Mater as well as the community.
We have a vision for our school - a vision of greatness. I exhort you, all of you, Grade 9 to nurture this
vision as I passed this key of responsibilities on to you. May each and every one of you will fulfil your roles and
commitments with honour, passion and pride.

ACCEPTANCE OF THE KEY OF LEARNING

Grade 9 President:
This key which was handed down for many generations, often symbolizes wisdom and knowledge, a new
hope and beginning, just as dawn signals that light will come. This key is filled with legacy, armed with
responsibility, and packed with history. This key is the insignia of every San Nicolas National High School learners
who defied odds and built the pillars of a sacred relic.
I, in behalf of the Grade 9, humbly receive this key that unites us with the new doors of opportunity and
unending learning towards the quest of knowledge and one’s upbringing. The challenge is now ours, right here, right
now. This shall symbolize the vast responsibility that we now carry on our shoulders – to lead and guide the whole
SNNHS community in the acquisition of knowledge and values. We allow this key to never to stop its journey, not
only in mind, but also in heart as we now craft our own path that will direct us to the meaningful destiny of life to
mark in the books your own legacy.
This shall signify the strong foundation of our friendship beyond the achievements that we caress. We shall
serve as models in ethics and of good disposition towards the younger students. As you leave to the portals of Junior
High School, dear Grade 10, may you pursue and finish the tasks, especially the mission of initiating the change
because, we, the Grade 9, are about to put our best efforts on it.
Now as we are about to chart our new journey in the more serious grounds of Grade 10, we accept the
challenge to take on this responsibility with the same fervour and spirit that allowed you to push through. We are
already brave and smart in facing the adversities and tasks that we will encounter ahead to continue bringing
honours to our beloved Alma Matter. We set ourselves as worthy keepers of this responsibility and carry on with the
legacies that the quality products of SNNHS are known for.
We will never forget its essence which triggered those who accepted this and commit our whole being to
the Father. May our eyes continue to see the doors of new beginnings and that this key shall lead us to remind us of
Christ, whose charity urges us forever. Let this key guide our hearts to the right path of our lives, until the end as we
attain the sweet and resounding sound of success and victory.
We, the Grade 9, shall always keep the key of SNNHS spotless and blemish-free.
To God be our highest glory.
