TENSION ADJUSTMENT PIN
Choose Your Birds®
Use the tension adjustment pin below the perch to Choose Your Birds®. Use your feeder with the pin in the down position for smaller
birds. Larger birds can perch with the pin in the up position.
1. Place the bird feeder pole at least 15 feet or more from any surface the squirrel can jump from, such as a tree, shrub, or
house or other bird feeder. You may have to move it farther than that if the squirrel can still jump to it.
2. Mount bird feeder on the pole or shepherds hook and put your feeder at least 5 feet off the ground and place a squirrel baffle,
like the Squirrel X Wrap-Around Squirrel Baffle (38023) on the pole below the feeder making sure the baffle is slightly below the
feeder, but not touching the feeder. The baffle needs to be high enough off the ground so that the squirrel cannot jump from the
ground to above the feeder. You may have to adjust the height of the baffle.
3. Give the squirrels another source of easily accessed food by using a critter feeder, such as the Stokes Select® Squirrel
Lunch Box (38079) or the Stokes Select® Tractor Corn Cob feeder (38055). Place the critter feeder at least 15 feet away from
bird feeders.
4. Use any one of our great Squirrel X feeders, your Best Defense Against Squirrels!
