Engine Oil
 Check the oil level (2 times), fill with OEM recommended engine oil.
 Check oil appearance (should not be milky or too dark).
 Check for leaks on all filters, hoses, and connections.
 Ensure that the oil cap and dipstick are in place and secured.
 Check the crankcase vent system for excessive blow by.

 Check for any water contamination in the fuel filters sight bowls and drain/clean
accordingly.
 Drain any water from the diesel tank - close the valve when done.
 Check for leaks on the filters, hoses, and connections.
 Fill up the diesel tank to 90%, and tighten the filler cap back on.
 Check the labelling
Radiator / Cooling System
 Check the coolant fluid level on a cold engine: Must be 2 in below the filler neck.
 Ensure that the top-up coolant drum (2 galUS) is available and part of the equipment
loadout.
 Check the radiator outside cores: Must be clean and free of damage and leaks.
 The coolant system hoses must be checked for leaks/damage.
 Fan belts/hubs: Check the belt for damage and verify the tension (1/2-in to 3/4-in
yield).
Air Cleaner
1. Remove the cover - check the element for soot or water and clean as required. If the
service Indicator is in RED, replace the filter element.

Electrical Systems
 Batteries - electrolyte levels, terminals, tiedowns, and surface are clean.
 Check voltages: Engine off (batteries) and running (alternator).
 Alternator: Check that the belts are OK (1/2-in to 3/4-in yield), and wiring if applicable.
 Starter: Check the wiring and the condition of the starter.
 Lights: No damage, working, and clean.
 Cables and connectors must be clean with no loose or broken wires.
Air Systems
 Check air supply (90-110 psi) - gauges okay & check for audible leaks
 Drain all air reservoirs/tanks until clean, close drain valve
 Air hoses, piping, valves & actuators - no damage/leaks, valves work ok
 PRV/Tank Certifications - check inspection date and tag
Hydraulic System and Hoses
 Hydraulic oil - 2 in to 4 in from the top of the tank when cold and w/o accumulators
dumped.
 Drain any water from the hydraulic oil reservoir.
 Hoses/connections/valves - undamaged, clean, no leaks, cuts, and/or cracks.
 Hoses - all caps, bundle templates, and ID tags correct and in place.
 Check the filter by-pass indicator when fitted. PRV's: Lock nuts are secured.
 Start the nitrogen pump and load the hydraulic pumps - check and report the system
pressures

 Check the oil level with the engine idling, warm, and in neutral.
 Check all hoses, connections, and seals for cleanliness, leaks, and damage.
 Check the condition of the gearbox breather filter.
PTO & Drivelines
 PTO Operation - working, no air leaks & no unusual noises
 Bearings & U-Joints - check grease points,
 check guards secure & in place
Coolant System, N2 Vaporizer and Heat Exchanger (if applicable)
 Coolant level - check the coolant sight glass (fill with the recommended water-glycol
mixture).
 Coolant pump - grease the bearings (Super Lube M EP).
 Coolant loop circuit (pump through heat exchangers to LN2 vaporizer) - check the
piping for leaks and/or damage.
 Coolant loop temp - check the temperature gauge (must stay between 100 - 120
degF).
 Heat exchangers - check for leaks and/or damage.
Centrifugal Charge Pump (Boost Pump)
 C- pump - check operation and inspect for leaks.
 Connections, valves, and braided hoses are in good condition, with no leaks.
 Suction strainer - check for leaks (must clean after 75 hr of operation).
 Check that the LN2 tank pressure is OK (typically 20 psig).
HP N2 Pumps Cold and Warm Ends
 HP N2 drive box: Use a dipstick to check the level.
 HP N2 pump lubrication tank sight glass - check with the engine at idle.
 Cool down - check that the cold ends frost over uniformly when cooling down.
 Leaks - check for leaks during operation.
Control Panel
Engine controls:
 Function-test the engine shutdown and emergency kill.
 Check that all gauges are in good condition and functioning.
 Check all controls for condition and function.
 Temperature and pressure gauges - all are working, undamaged, and tested.
 Power up / voltage check (volt meter = 11.5 V min - 14.5 V max).
Unit controls:
 Displays - check operation for (rate + RPM) and (pressure + OPSD). OPSD - check
operation and reset.
 HP N2 pump - Check the RPM, LN2 and GN2 discharge pressure, and temperature
control gauges.

 Heat exchanger - check the controls and gauges panel


 Cables & Connectors - clean & undamaged, dust caps in place
 Power Up/Voltage Check (Volt meter = 11.5V min - 14.5V max) Check Normal Kill &
Emergency Kill (with engine stopped) and reset
 OPSD's - check operation and reset
 Convertor Lock-Up - check operation and light working
Electronics Control, Recording, and Monitoring Devices
 Cables/connectors: Check the condition, cleanliness, tightness of connections, and
dust caps.
 Junction box - check that the door and seals are OK, the connector cable is secured
and not binding, and cables enter via the proper glands.
 Sensors LN2 and GN2 - check that all are working, tested, and calibrated OK
Treating Equipment
 Certifications are up to date, with ID bands in place.
 Grease the plug valves and chicksans swivels, and check the seal rings.
 Dart-type check valve is in place on the discharge line, with in-date test.
 Remote actuated valve - check the certifications and function test to ensure it is
working OK.
 Check for no burrs on the wing nut lugs, and ensure that the valve indicators are
painted white.
 Check that the cryogenic braided hoses and unions (M+F) are undamaged and clean
inside
COMMENTS: Describe any additional checks performed or deficiencies found.
Use SM-2 and 3 Repair Report for documenting all repairs carried out and parts used.
