Thirty five posts of Senior Assistant Controller of Mines in the Level - 1 I (Rs. 67700-
208700) is vacant in Indian Bureau of Mines under the Ministry of Mines and is to be filled up on
deputation (including short term contract):
02. The Senior Assistant Contr:oller of Mines will inspect Mines for systematic development of
mines, conservation of minerals and protection of mines environment under the Mines and Minerals
(Development and Regulation) Act, 1957 and rules made there under. He has to prefer court
complaints for violations of Mines and Minerals (Development & Regulation) Act and rules made
there under. He has to advise the mine owners on the adoption of appropriate technology for
prospecting and mining; utilization of low grade minerals and rejects, protection of environment in
mining areas, beneficiation of minerals. He has to undertake site inspections in connection with
processing of mining plan/scheme of mining anrJ examination of mining plans. He has to monitor
the rnining activities in accordance with the approved mining plan/scheme of mining. He has to
process stopping proposals for underground mines. Technical data processing and retrieval as and
when required. Any other duties that may be assigned by the superior officers of IBM.
03. As per the Recruitment l{ules for the post of Senior Assistant Controller of Mines,the
candidates to be considered for appointment by deputation (including short term contract) should be
the Officers of the Central Government or State Government or Union territories or autonomous or
statutory organisation or public sector undertakings or University or recognised research institution :-
(a) i) Holding analogous post on regular basiis in the parent cadre or department; or
ii) With five years service in the grade rendered after appointment thereto on a regular basis
in posts in level-10 in the pay matrix (Rs.56100-177500) or equivalent in the parent cadre
or Department.
(b) Possessing the educational qualifications and experience :-
(A) (i) Bachelor of Engineering or Technology in Mining Engineering from a recognised
[Jniversity or institution;
(ii) Five years experience in core Mining activity in:-
(a) Managerial position in Metalliferous (:Non-coal) mines which includes the period as
graduate or management or junior trainee engineer, or
(b) Government Department dealing with mines and minerals, as Gazetted otficer. or
(B) (i) Master of Engirreering or Technology in Mining Engineering from a recognised
University or institution.
(ii) Three years experience in core Mining activity in:-
