1. In Spanish, Eli can act like a Fairy Princess, act like a conquistador, be loud and crazy, piss Mrs. Ruth
off, do the iTest, or pwn everyone in Spanish. Today Eli feels super special and wants to do three
different activities. In how many different ways can he do three of these, assuming order does not
matter?
2. Eli chose to be a conquistador today. He is Cortes, and is fighting Pizzaro (Angelo). Eli has a 14
49 chance
48
of winning, and Malinche (Owais) has a 84 chance of intervening and using magic powers to destroy
Pizzaro (Angelo) completely. What is the probability Pizarro (Angelo) wins the battle? Express your
answer as a common fraction.
3. Eli has a .375 batting average. What is the probability he gets a hit in each of three consecutive bats?
Express your answer as a common fraction.
4. Eli has x bags of sour skittles. There are 40 sour skittles in each bag. x has 8 factors and the total
number of sour skittles Eli has is less than 1200. Eli has y sour skittles. Evaluate x + y.
5. In right triangle ABC, with right angle at B, altitude BD is drawn where D is on AC. If ∠DBC = 38◦ ,
find the sum of the complement and supplement of ∠BAD.
6. There are two boats facing in opposite directions, starting at the same point. One boat travels at 54
mph while the other travels 26 mph. They start moving away from each other at a constant speed.
How many hours will it be till they are 640 miles apart?
7. Eli and Bishoy like to have ninja fights. Eli uses ultimate llama penguin power while Bishoy throws
textbooks. Since Bishoy doesn’t use good powers, he only has a .00002 chance of winning each ninja
fight. Eli and Bishoy fight 4100 times. The number of fights Bishoy would be expected to win can be
expressed as a.b × 10c . Find a + b + c.
8. An n × n magic square is a square grid in which the numbers 1 through n2 are arranged in a way such
that all the columns, rows, and diagonals add up to the same number. Find this number for a 5 × 5
magic square.
9. Assume a regular hexagon ABCDEF with side length 8. The midpoints of sides AB, CD, and EF
are X, Y , and Z, respectively. Find the area of 4XY Z. Express your answer in simplest radical form.
10. A group of 9 people are nominated for a 6 person committee. From this committee, a 3 person
subcommittee will be formed. How many ways are there to organize the committee and subcommittee?
11. Let
A = 1, B = 2, C = 3, D = 4, . . . X = 24, Y = 25, Z = 26
Let the value of a word be the product of it’s corresponding variables (i.e ALL=(1)(12)(12)=144).
Take your name. Find the value of it. Multiply it by 200. Add 50 to it. Add 15 to it. Add 35 to it.
Divide it by 2, subtract 27 from it and then divide it by 3. Subtract half the value of your name from
it, then subtract 32(value of your name), and finally, subtract 5/6 of the value of your name from it.
What are you left with? Express your answer as a mixed number.
12. Find the area of the quadrilateral which has vertices at (3, 2), (1, −1), (−6, 3), and (−4, 6).
13. I am in City A, and want to travel to City B, and from City B, to City C, and back to City A. The
distance from City A to City B is 75 km, and the distance from City B to City C is x1 km, and from
City C to City A is x2 . If the whole trip takes 32 hours and the average rate of my speed for the whole
trip was 35 kph, find the average of x1 and x2 . Express your answer as a decimal to the nearest tenth.

14. If x is an integer such that gcf(x, 24) = 8 and lcm(x, 24) = 312, find x.
15. Consider a painted 6 × 6 cube which is broken completely into unit cubes. Let
A= The number of unit cubes with one side painted.
B= The number of unit cubes with two sides painted.
C= The number of unit cubes with three sides painted.
Find A+B+C.
16. A plumber does a 2-day job and his charging price is determined as follows: If he did x hours of work
the first day and y hours the second day, he will charge

x + y + xy

dollars. A plumber ends up charging 75 dollars for the two-day job. If he worked less than 20 hours
each day, find the positive difference between the amount of hours he worked each day.
17. Find the number of even factors of 12600.
18. If the sum of two numbers is 5, and the sum of the reciprocals of those two numbers is 23 , find the sum
of the squares of the two numbers.
19. If a natural number P is divisible by 15 and 28, then it must also be divisible by the natural number
Q where 30 < Q < 48. Find the sum of all possible values of Q satisfying this condition.
20. Jinzi kicks Pratik a lot. If Jinzi kicks a lot, she gives Pratik a bruise, and if Pratik has enough bruises,
he gets a blood clot, and if Pratik gets enough blood clots, he has to get his leg amputated. It takes
Jinzi 2 kicks to give one bruise, 4 to give 2, 8 to give 3, and so on. It takes 4 bruises to create one
blood clot, 16 to create 2, 64 to create 3, and so on. It takes 10 blood clots to require amputation. If
n
Jinzi needs to kick 2m times to cause amputation, find mn.
21. A rocket silo is comprised of a cylinder topped off with a hemisphere. The radii of the hemisphere and
cylinder are 2 feet, and the height of the cylinder is 4 feet. The silo is filled completely with Euler-oil,
which ’mathematizes’ areas with Euler lines, i, and derivatives of homomorphic monic polynomials
using a combination of Vieta’s, Jensen, and Muirhead. If an area of 10 feet × 14 feet needs to
be mathematized, and every cubic foot of Euler-oil mathematizes an area of 1 square foot, find the
number of whole rocket silos needed to mathematize this area (Assume the thickness of the silo is
neglible).
22. What is the units digit of the product

21 · 22 · 23 · 24 · · · 2199 · 2200

where the numbers multiplied are the whole number powers from 21 to 2200 ?

23. There are 24 people in Ms. King’s class. Ms. King will call up one student at a time to give them
their grade. There are four students who are best friends, A, B, C, and D. Every student in the class
is equally likely to be picked if they are there. A is in the bathroom while Ms. King is going to call
up the first person, so that it is impossible to call up A. However, A comes back in time for Ms. King
to call up the rest of the students. What is the probability that A is called up before all of B, C, and
D? Express your answer as a common fraction.

3
24. ABCD is a parallelogram; on AB a point E is taken so that AE = 14 AB. F is the midpoint of DC.
EF cuts BD at P . Find the ratio of DP : BP . Express your answer as a common fraction.
25. Consider a function f (x) that has zeroes 4 and 9. Given that Dhyan randomly selects a number from
the set {−10, −9, −8, ...8, 9, 10}, what is the probability that Dhyan chooses a zero of f (x2 )? Express
your answer as a common fraction.
26. Find the remainder when 62006 is divided by 35.

27. A parallelogram with vertices at (0, 4), (2, 0), (0, −4), (−2, 0). Find the volume of the solid formed
when the parallelogram is rotated about the y-axis. Express your answer as a common fraction in
terms of π.
28. Eli has challenged Jinzi to a battle. Jinzi can punch, kick, or slap. She needs 4320 JZ points to do a
slap. Doing a punch gives 190 JZ points and doing a kick gives 230 JZ points. Find the sum of the
amount of kicks and amount of punches it would take to get exactly enough JZ points to do a slap.
29. Pratik wants revenge for Jinzi for getting his leg amputated. However, Eli has already beaten her. So
Pratik decides to destroy Patrick. Patrick is at (5, 6) and Pratik is at (3, 2). Pratik has to use laser
guns to shoot Patrick, but he can’t shoot him directly because of a barrier. So Pratik has to shoot at
some point on the x-axis such that it bounces off and hits Patrick. Give the x-coordinate of this point.
Express your answer as a common fraction.
30. In 4ABC medians AD and BE are drawn. They intersect at point F . If triangle ABC has side
lengths 6, 8, and 12, find the area of 4ABF . Express your answer as a common fraction in simplest
