X Infusion Level: Students may work at a higher Bloom’s Level, but they do not have any “Voice or Choice”
during the activity and most of the decisions are made by the teacher.
☐ Integration Level: We would like to see ALL lessons/activities reach this level. The project is student-
driven. Students have “Voice and Choice” in the activities, selecting the topic of study and determining the
technology tool to demonstrate mastery of the standard. The teacher becomes more of a facilitator.
☐ Expansion Level: The projects created are shared outside of the classroom, publishing student work and
promoting authorship. This could be reached by showcasing the project on the school’s morning
newscast, posting the project to the classroom blog, or publishing via an outside source.
The activity will be good for all students, due to the accessibility of the website and the tools that are included
for all students. This website enhances learning by giving the students to recreate a timeline in a different way
that is fun and easy. Using technology is a great way to raise engagement and gives students the chance to
create something that will make their learning more meaningful.
The students will lead this activity by creating their own timeline. They will include the events they feel
are the most important to the narrative of the historic event. The teacher will simply lead them to the
knowledge about the event, and allow them to create the timeline. The students learning will be assessed
using a rubric, and the student’s final product will show what they know. Using what they know can be a way
for the teacher to plan from there.
This activity can be extended for students, by having them chose what event they think is the most
important and writing about it or even creating a skit reenacting the play. These are both ways to extend into
the higher levels of Bloom’s taxonomy for the students learning. The students can conclude the lesson by
sharing with a partner and reflecting on what it must have been like in those times. Students will receive
feedback on the rubric.
Reflective Practice:
I believe that students need technology in activities to raise engagement. Students will be able to create and
enjoy learning about the timeline of the revolutionary war in America. To further extend this lesson students,
could reenact a famous event on their timeline by creating a skit and sharing it with the rest of the class.
Students could use iMovie to do this and extend their learning.
