5. CONSTRUCTION PROCEDURE

5.1 Work Procedure

5.1.1 General

Work procedures for grouting

grouting of sonic tubes include the following activities:

- Cleaning
leaning the sonic tubes
- Mixing of grout
- Pumping of grout into sonic tubes
.

5.1.2 Cleaning the Sonic Tubes

T

A steel or plastic pipe shall be lowered up to the bottom of the sonic tubes and water
will be pumped in order to remove any debris.

5.1.3 Mixing of G
Grout

Mixing of grout will be done as recommended by the supplier. If required minor

changes shall be done to suit the ssite
ite condition by doing some trial mix.

Main physical properties of the grout will be as follows:

Density : + 5 g/cm3
Flow Cone Test : 40~60 sec
Bleeding at 2 hours
hou : <4%
UCS @ 28 Days : >40 MPa.
MPa

5.1.4 Pumping of grout into sonic tubes

After washing of sonic tubes

tubes,, grouting will be carried out. A grouting pipe shall be
lowered inside the sonic tubes up to the bottom. Then the grout mixture will be
pumped through the pipe. The grout pipe will be gradually withdrawn after the cement
grout has overflowed at
at the top of the sonic tube. The water inside the sonic tubes will
be displaced by the thick grout pumped from the bottom.

6. CONSTRUCTION SCHEDULE

Grouting of sonic tubes shall start after carrying out sonic test and approval of test from
Consultant. The time required for
for completion of grouting is dependent on the depth and numbers
of tubes in the bored pile.

7. QUALITY CONTROL PLAN

All material will comply with the requirements of the Project Specification.
Specification

7.1 Inspection and Test

The ffollowing
ollowing test shall be done to ensure the quality of grout.

 Temperature
 Flow Cone Test
 UCS Strength at 28 Days

7.2 Testing Instrumentation

nstrumentation

In order to perform the quality controls on the drilling fluid, the following instruments will be
used:

- Flow Cone and Stop W

Watch
- Thermometer
- Cube Moulds (50mmx50mmx50mm)

7.3 Frequency of the Tests

The quality tests of the grout shall be done for each batch
