COVID-19 PREVENTION - HAND SANITIZER
While there is no vaccine or sucessful treatment, washing hands with water and soap for at
least 20 seconds, social distance, mouth covering, sanitized surfaces, ventilated areas,
limited gathering are tolls to reduce the presence of coronavirus, thus COVID-19 cases and
deaths. When water and soap are not avaiable, hand sanitizers with alcohol has proven to
be very useful, valuable, and effective in keeping the vírus away.

Acrypol 956 is a carbomer with medium vis- Properties:

EXAMPLE OF FORMULATION
INGREDIENT (g) FUNCTION Procedure:
Demineralized water 38.5 Vehicle 1. Add Acrypol 956 slowly to a container containing
demineralized water. Continue stirring for 30 minutes
Acrypol 956 0.25 Thickener until free of lumps.
Ethanol/Isopropyl alcohol 60.0 Solvent 2. Add Ethanol/Isopropyl alcohol under slow stirring
and continue stirring for 10 minutes.
Triethanolamine (99%)* 0.25 Neutralizer 3. Add Triethanolamine to neutralize until reach pH
7.2 - 7.5.
Glycerin 1.0 Humectant 4. Stir the clear, transparent gel obtained for 15
Perfume (water soluble) Q.S Fragance minutes.
5. Add glycerin under slow stirring.
*Add suficient quantity until pH 6.7-7.0 6. Add perfume for a better aesthetic appeal.

Notes:
1. This is a formulation based on small-scale laboratory
equipment and is offered in good faith to the benefit of
the customer. We cannot assume any liability or risks
involved in the use of this formulation. The customer is
responsible for the full-scale test and final Hand Sanitizer
performance.
2. Use Acrymine A-100 (Amino Methyl Propanol) as neutral-
izer when formulating for a 70% alcohol.
