● Think of a close friend. What value can you provide for them now?
● Think of a friend. How do they influence your life? Your decisions, feelings, and
behavior?
● Think of someone you know. What characteristics they have that you admire? How can
you build that character?
● What are your best characteristics? Who helped you develop them?
● Reflect on your achievements and character. Do you need anything else to be whole?
● What is an accomplishment that you are proud of? Why are you proud of it? What can
you do to do more things like that?
● What is one of your most cherished memories and why?
● Think of a material thing you want. Why do you want it? Would it help you achieve your
goals or cultivate virtue?
● Look at the things you value most. How much would you want them if you didn’t have
them?
● Think of a material thing you really wanted and eventually purchased. How do you feel
about that thing now?
● What do you really want to buy right now? What value will that add to your life? What
value will be lost if you don’t buy it?
● Think of someone you admire. Write yourself advice you think they would give you.
● Did you lose control of your emotions recently? What happened? What triggered it?
What could you try next time?
● What did you do recently that was out of character? What happened? What triggered it?
What could you try next time?
● What have you done recently that was not a good use of your time?
● Did you miss an important habit or step in your routine recently? How can you prevent
that from happening?
● What do you want today?
● What obstacles are you currently facing? How can you use them to your advantage?
● What character trait are you cultivating now? How?
● What have you done recently? How would someone you admire acted differently?
● Think of a goal of yours? How can you achieve it? Start from the end and work
backwards.
● Did something out of your control bother you recently?
● Is there something that you mistakenly think is out of your control? If you had to change
it, could you?
● What if you needed to get today right?
● What if you had to get today right?
● What are you striving for?
● What virtue are you building today?
● How can you focus on what is under your control today?
● What is bringing you joy right now? What are you looking forward to?
● Spend some time contemplating the bigger picture. You are one human among billions.
● Spend some time contemplating the bigger picture. Remind yourself that your sliver of
time is short. How can you spend it on what matters?
● Everything is finite and impermanent. How can you use this fact to cultivate gratitude
today?
● Are there any hard problems you are shying away from? What’s holding you back?
● Everyone is finite and impermanent. How can you show your love and appreciation of
them today?
● What have you been surprised by recently? Why was it surprising? Why didn’t you
predict it?
