Objective 
Drama III is a continuation of Drama II, covering a variety of theatrical elements. The students 
will review materials learned last year. We will read, discuss, and analyze different theatrical 
works. We will expand on the basics of performing as an actor including the 7 Essential

Improvisation​ (taxi, what are you doing?, scene starters) 

Audition Technique​ (Introduction, sides, 5 rehearsal ideals) 

Monologues​ (7 essential questions, varied selections) 

Scenes​ (varied selections, partner scenes, open scenes, radio theatre) 

Technical Theatre​ (theatre terms, lights/sound, costuming, makeup)

Performance Evaluation​: Will be based on set guidelines & will be considered not by 
comparison to other students' performances but by direction given by me, ability to apply this 
direction and on personal growth. 
Cheating Procedure​ - Any student caught cheating will be referred to the office as a discipline 
referral and required to make up the assignment at a teacher assigned time. Refer to the 
handbook for consequences. 

Late work​ will be recorded as a zero until turned in. Late work may be submitted for partial 
credit and will lose 10 points each day after the due date/time.   

Grading Policy​: M
​ ajor Assessments 45%  monologues, group performances, scenes 

  Minor Assessments 20%  history/term quizzes, minor performances 

Daily Assignments 20%  class participation in games, discussions 

Final Exam 15%  Terms and play analysis
