Good morning students. Today we will learn about fractions. Fractions are parts of a whole or a group. For example, if we cut an apple into 4 equal pieces, each piece is called 1/4 of the apple. We can also have fractions like 1/2, 1/3, 2/3 etc. Fractions are very useful in our daily life like in cooking, measuring length, dividing items etc. By the end of today's class, I hope you all understand the basic concept of fractions and are able to identify, write and compare simple fractions. Let's start with some examples to understand fractions better.
