A. General
This document describes the portable extinguisher P/N 863521-01 and 863521-02, and
gives information relative to the maintenance.

C. Description (see figure 1)
The extinguisher is a new generation of handheld extinguisher designed to extinguish
cockpit and cabin fire.
The extinguisher, which is fitted on aircraft cockpit and cabin with a bracket, is compact,
lightweight, easy to use. It is a self-contained system with a pressure gauge, a safety
device and an aluminium cylinder. The extinguisher is filled with HALON 1211

B. Procedure
WARNING : DO NOT USE ALCOHOL NEAR FLAMES OR HEAT OR LET IT STAY ON
YOUR SKIN. ALSO, MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A GOOD FLOW OF CLEAN
AIR. THIS MATERIAL IS FLAMMABLE AND DANGEROUS TO YOUR
SKIN, EYES AND LUNGS.
(1) Use a brush soaked in denatured alcohol to remove unwanted materials (dust,
oils..)
WARNING: MAXIMUM ALLOWABLE AIR PRESSURE IS 30 PSI (207 kPa). DO NOT
DIRECT AIR STREAM TOWARD YOURSELF OR OTHER PERSONNEL.
USE PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT TO GUARD EYES AND FACE WHEN
USING COMPRESSED AIR.
(2) Use a dry, clean and lint free cloth to the bottle, and dry with low pressure
compressed air.

- the manometer direction (the reading must be possible when the extinguisher is in
normal position (Discharge head to the high). The position of the pointer must be
in the GREEN area (6 – 18 bar).

the bottle and the difference between the initial weight indicated by the
manufacturer (“Total Weight”) and this value must be 50 g

weight identified on the bottle (1.767 Kg mini)
