The document provides instructions to write a 300-500 word essay comparing computer parts to the human body. It lists several analogies between specific computer hardware and human anatomy:
- The CPU is like the brain, the motherboard is like the nervous system, cache is like short-term memory, and the hard drive is like long-term memory.
- RAM is analogous to human muscles, with more RAM enabling better multitasking similar to stronger muscles allowing for improved performance.
- The webcam, speaker, and microphone are compared to the eyes, mouth, and ears respectively in how they receive and transmit signals.
- Other similarities drawn are between the monitor and human face, mouse and keyboard to hands

WEEK 3 UNIT TASKS
I.WRITE AN ESSAY BASED ON THE MAIN THEME: "COMPUTER PARTS: SIMILAR TO
THE HUMAN BODY" CONSISTING OF 300-500 WORDS Our body is composed of millions of cells grouped together to form tissues that form into organs which make up our body systems. Meanwhile, a computer is comprised of different parts and peripherals working together to perform certain tasks or solve a particular problem where one dysfunctional or missing part will cause malfunction to the whole system. Just like how the parts of our body are very important to us since they help us in doing our work and enables us to communicate with one another, the computer parts also aid communication process between the computer system itself and the user. The CPU (Central Processing Unit) is referred to as the brain of the computer in which the rate of its clock speed tells how fast, smart of efficient it is. The motherboard is comparable to the human nervous system; with its bus that serves as the communication system which transfers data on all other components. The wider and faster the bus, the easier the information can flow through it. Cache is compared to the human short-term memory where small amount of information is stored there for fast retrieval while the hard drive is the long term memory because it is not as easily accessible as the cache. The hard drive’s process time is much longer that when computer data are fragmented, it may take longer time to retrieve that stored information. The RAM (Random Access Memory) serves as the muscle of the PC. Higher RAMs will enable you to multitask and open many tabs which tend to boost the computer’s performance. Strong muscles enable you to perform better and do extra tasks. Another analogous part of the human body is the webcam which serves as the eyes of the computer. Web cam detect light and send signals through the optic lens to the visual and the computer to the CPU just exactly like how the eyes work sending visual signals to the brain through optic nerves. Poor camera resolution is equal to poor eyesight. The speaker is considered to be the mouth of the computer because just like the mouth, it also produces soundwaves while the microphone is the ear which receives the soundwaves. The monitor projects visual displays as the human face projects different facial emotions. The mouse and keyboard are both input devices of the computer with the mouse pointer clicking your desired files just like the human hands picking your desired objects. Lastly, the computer case acts like the skin which covers all components. Just like how the skin protects us from infections and other microorganisms, the computer casing serves its defense against external conditions.
