Field Study 6: Leonilo C. Dumaguing Jr. Iv - Bsed Lesson 2 - Make A Reflection
1. Based on your matrix of the various educational system of other countries, how
would you compare our Philippine educational system? In what aspects are we
similar with other countries? Is our educational system globally competitive? How
do you see yourself in the K to 12 Curriculum as a teacher?
Answer:
Every country has their own educational system, and the Philippines has
upgraded to give the students a better opportunity by copying some of the
educational system from different countries. Even though K – 12 Curriculum
was not implemented before, students ar able to find job and compete
internationally. As a world change, we must also consider having change in
curriculum in order to be globally competitive.
We already know that one the attitudes of the Filipino people are very
competitive and so our teachers and students. I believe that the abilities of the
teachers and the students are way better than the other countries.
As a K – 12 Teacher, I must improve the skills that I have learned from
schools and use it to benefit my students that way they can be globally
competitive. I must also use different strategies in order to enhance their skills
especially on academic and technical. As a teacher we should not focus on
books but we should focus more on the performance of the skills and
enhance because I believe that all students have their intelligence that we
must discover.
Situation 1:
Mrs. Rosa Rose a teacher born and raised in Visayas married a Tausog in Jolo,
Sulu. The marriage necessitated her to transfer teaching in the place of her husband
who is also a teacher. Coming from a different family background in terms of religion,
ethnic origin, and social background, Mrs. Rose has to adjust to her present relocated
residence. She was accepted to teach in one of the elementary schools in the area
where a mixture of different ethnic groups are enrolled. Reflect on the situation given.
Situation 1:
1. What teaching challenges will Mrs. Rose encounter with her diverse students?
Answer: I think the challenges were the communication, the behaviour of the
students and also the community which she was in. First is communication, the
most important for a teacher is to be able to communicate with the students,
since she came from Visayas, I think dialect is different in Sulu. Second is the
behaviour of the students, since students is diverse and have their different
behaviour, she may be able to think strategies in teaching. Third is the
community because since she was raised in Visayas she doesn’t know the
custom and tradition of the place.
3. What personal dilemmas will she encounter? If you were in her place, what
would you do?
Answer: Of course, I will to have research of the community that I wanted to
work with and also try to learn as possible their languages if it is different from
mine, and also find different strategies to crack the barriers in teaching.
Situation 2:

American-based, but your students come from different countries but majority are
Indonesian nationals.
