I. RATIONALE/SITUATIONAL ANALYSIS:
The 2020 Census of Population and Housing (CPH) is a nationwide government
undertaking that involves the collection, compilation, evaluation, analysis,
publication, and dissemination of data on population count, demographic and socio-
economic characteristics of the population, housing characteristics, household
characteristics, and barangay characteristics in each barangay, city/municipality,
province and region in the country. It also aims to provide government executives,
policy makers, and planners with population and housing data on which to base their
social and economic development plans, policies and programs.
In an effort to disseminate the importance of the above-mentioned activity to the
greater public, the PSA Regional Statistical Services Office (PSA RSSO II) through
its Statistical Operations and Coordination Division (SOCD) is proposing to conduct
the 2020 CPH launching in the Cagayan Valley Region on August 28, 2020 at Pulsar
Premier Suites, Buntun Highway, Tuguegarao City. The event will serve as the kick-
off activity of the 2020 CPH in the region before it starts its enumeration on
September 1, 2020. It will be done face-to-face and for those provinces and guests
who opt to attend virtually, a zoom link will be provided to them. The SOCD expects
that the launching activity will heighten people’s interest and be encouraged to
voluntarily participate in the 2020 CPH. As part of the programme, the SOCD will
conduct an information education campaign (IEC) activities on the importance of the
said census trough Facebook Live at PSA RSSO II Official FB page. A question and
answer portion will also be done at the FB Live and winners of the said contest will
receive a token from the CPH Team.

II. OBJECTIVES:
The conduct of the 2020 CPH Launching in Cagayan Valley Region aims to
accomplish the following:
1. To formally launch the conduct of 2020 Census of Population and Housing in
Region 2
2. To disseminate to the greater portion of the community the value and
importance of conducting the 2020 CPH.
3. To heighten awareness of the public regarding the conduct of the 2020 CPH
