1.0 The site is loacted in Chhota Udepur district. NH 56 was earlier reffered as SH 11
. State Highway 11 was upgraded to NH 56 in 2013. The location work after
Chhota Udepur town (Approx. 2 km from Chhota Udepur town) with NH 56
Chainage as 381/305 (Near Runwad village)
2.0 The project length is constrcution of Approaches of ROB. The major treatment is
as per PQ document
(a) TEMPERATURE
The project road lies in the State of Gujarat. This state is situated in western part of Indian
and has semi arid climate Ref. Index. Map. Large part of the state lies between 350 C and
isotherms. May is the hottest month and January the coldest. The isotherm generally run
east west and the temperature increase steadily as one moves southwards.
Gujarat receives most of its rainfall form the south-west monsoon between June and
September with maximum intensity in July and August. The monsoon arrives earlier in the
south and east and last longer than in the northwest. Hence the rainfall intensity ranges from
over 2400 mm in the southwest to less than 250 mm in the extreme west. Some depressions
and cyclones in the Arabian Sea which move across the coastal area sometimes bring rains
and strong winds in the months of April to June and October to November.
(i) Areas with more than 1000 mm rainfall include the districts of Valsad, Dangs, Surat and the
eastern parts of Vadodara with Rajpipla Hills.
(ii) Areas receiving rainfall between 800 mm and 1000 mm include Panchmahals, Vadodara,
Anand, Kheda and part of Ahmedabad.
(iii) Areas having rainfall between 400 mm and 800 mm include Saurashtra and areas north of
Ahmedabad.
(iv) Areas receiving less than 400 mm rainfall include Kachch Banaskantha and Coastal
Jamnagar.
(c) HUMIDITY:
The relative humidity in all parts of the State, with the exception of the coastal areas is low
in the summer the relative humidity varies from 75 and 80 percent in winter from 40 to 50
percent. The coastal areas, on the other hand, have moderately high humidity all the year
round with a maximum in the summer months reaching as high as high as 90 percent.
(d) HYDROLOGY:

Mahi river is the major river (perennial) in the south of the state which serves as the main
water source for drainage – Mahi river, river discharge in to Gulf of Khambhat.
(e) TOPOGRAPHY:
Gujarat is located in western side of the India and bounded by the State of Rajasthan in the
north, Madhya Pradesh in east and Maharashtra in south. It has also an international border
with Pakistan on its north for length of about 360 km. The state of Gujarat covers a total
area of 195,904 sq. km. and is situated between 20"06" to 24"42". North latitude and
68 10" to 74 24" East longitude. The state has the longest coastline in the country measuring
about 1600 km along western part of India, extending from Lakhpat in North to Damam in
the south.
(i) The Alluvial Plains extend in North Gujarat to Bulsar in the south, and westward to the little
Rann and Banni area of Kachchh.
(ii) The Eastern hilly tract lies between the altitude of 300 –1400 m and forms a major divide.
(iii) Uplands of Kachchh and Saurashtra consist of sandstone shale and basalt rock with
elevations of about 150-500 m sloping radically towards the coast. The Girnar hill forest is
at an elevation 1117 m.
(iv) The Eastern hilly tract lies between the altitude of 300 –14000 m and forms a major divide.
(v) The low-laying coastal tract ranges in elevation from 3-25 m surrounding the Kachchh and
Saurashtra uplands. These low laying areas extend from Rann of Kachchh to little Rann of
Kachchh and to the low laying delta region of Bhadar, Bhoqavo, Mahl, Dhadar. Narmada
and Tapi rivers.
(vi) The Marshy to saline desert of Rann of Kachchh and little Rann of Kachchh extend into the
saline Tracts around the Gulf of Cambay. This vast fields of salt mixed with clay is devoid
of any vegetation or habitation. The general elevation of this tract varies between 3 To 10
Mtr.
Passenger Road Transport in the state is mainly provided by Gujarat State Transport
Corporation, a State Government undertaking Goods transport operation is with the private
sector.

(h) COMMUNICATION FACILITIES:
The communication facilities in the State consist of post, telegraph, telex and fax. These
facilities are provided by the Post and Telegraph Department of Government of India.
Besides private sector operated courier, fax and other similar services, Government
facilities also exists in all important cities of the state.
All the important cities have full fledged Government medical Hospitals besides private
clinics and nursing homes etc.
Expected construction period from contracts is 11 months (Eleven month)from the date of
award.
Free access to the work sites will be assured by the Employer for expected Agencies.
1. Soil Characteristics
The Soils of Gujarat state can be classified into Black Cotton Soils. Alluvial Soils, Saline
Alkaline Soils and desert Soils.
a) Black Soils : -The black soils are either medium black or deep black.
i) Medium Black Soil :-Medium black soils are found in Saurashtra, some parts of
Sabarkantha and Panchmahal district,
South – west of Ahmedabad and parts of Vadodara and Kachchh district. This soil
type is not so deep. Soil textures clay loam to clayey.
ii) Deep Black Soil.:-The deep black soils are found in the district of Vadodara,
Vadodara, Surat and Valsad, Soil depth varies from less than one meter to as deep as
six meters. These soils have very heavy clay content. Montmorilloniteper
domination.
.b) Alluvial Soils :-These soils in Gujarat are formed due to silting by Indus river
system. These soils occur through Banaskantha district and the greater part of
Mehsana and Sabarkantha. Ahmedabad, Kheda district, Further more alluvial soils
also occur in the northern part of Vadodara and Jambusar and eastern part of Surat
and Valsad district.
.c) Saline – Alkaline Soils:-These soils are found in " Bhal Tract " of Surendranagar,

Bhavnagar, Ahmedabad, and Kheda district and also in southern part of state along
the sea-coast except in Vadodara, Surat and Valsad district. Saline soil is also found
in portions Kachchh. Mehsana and Banaskantha district due to less rain fall and
high evaporation.
.d) Desert Soils :-These are mainly found in Dssert of Kuchchh (Northern and north –
eastern parts).
.e) Earthquake Zone :-The District of Kachchh comes under the Zone-5 of the earth
quake where as districts of Saurashtra comes under Zone-3 & Zone-4. The part of
Vadodara district comes under Zone-4 where as other district of Gujarat comes
under Zone-3. Since the district of Kachchh and some district of Saurashtra, part of
Vadodara district comes under Earth quake Zones of moderate intensity, necessary
precautions are to be taken for the construction works.

Bench Mark
Standard bench mark shall have to be established and connection to the G.T.S. bench mark with
reference to which the whole work shall be carried out. The contractor shall establish reference
bench mark at suitable spot The maintenance of the reference bench marks shall be the
responsibility of the contractor.
Site Condition
The Site
It shall be deemed that the contractor has satisfied himself as to the nature and location of
the work general and local condition and particularly these pertaining to transport handing and
availability of storage of materials, availability of labour, weather condition, high and low rides,
highestcombined effect of tide floods, tidal variation at the site ground level and that the tenderer
has estimated his cost accordingly and Government in no case will be held responsible for the
staff accommodation or any deductions, interpretations or conclusion drawn from the contractor.
The climatic in this region is moderately hot and humid. The monsoon depends upon the advance
of the south west wind but the normal rainy season commence from early June and last up to
October in the region of work. But occasionally, shower or two may be excepted over earlier.
There is generally no rain beyond October though some stray may be experienced. The yearly
total rainfall in the area is about 100 cms the climate during winter -season goes down to about
120C. In summer (i.e. April to June), the whether is hot and some times the temperature goes
upto45oC
Some unskilled labour and batsmen used to manning ordinary country craft may be
available locally, but skilled labour will hardy be available in the immediate neighborhood for
work of this type and magnitude.
1.4.4 Marketing Centre
Nearest marketing centre for daily necessitation in Bodeli & Chhota Udepur.

Some facilities may be available in Bodeli & Chhota Udepurand nearby village. Thecontractor
has however to make his arrangement for land for housing, stores, fields,offices, accommodations
for his labour and other employees etc. at the site of work.
Nearest big railway station is Chhota Udepurabout6.00Km away from site which have local
connectivity. For connectivity to other cities in India, Vadodara Jn. Railway station is about 90.00
Km from Bodeli.
1.5 Materials
1.5.1The Materialswill be available from the quarries. But the exact details regarding quality,
transport, facilities, for the same etc. may be ascertained by the contractor before hand.
1.5.2Asphalt will be brought by the contractor. All other materials will have to be arranged for
and brought by the contractor of their own.
1.5.3No Government machinery will be available for this work and the contractor will have to
take his own arrangement in this regard.

Additional Instructions to persons tendering
1. DETAILS OF WORKS:
The work included in this contract shall be carried out in accordance with the
specification, rules and regulations as laid down in the books mentioned below in order of
the priority.
(1) Specification for roads and bridge works Ministry of Surface Transport, 5th
Revision, 2013.
(3) Relevant I.S.-and IRC specified in specifications of item.
(4) P.W.D. Hand Book Vol. I and II.
If the reference books quoted above fall short for the items quoted in the Schedules
of this contract reference shall be made to Indian Standard specification of latest additions.
If any items of this contract are not covered by the reference books quoted above, details,
and specification directed by the Chief Engineer (R & B) Department, Gujarat shall be
final..
Statement as to the conditions under which the work is to be performed including plans,
surveys, measurements, dimensions, calculations, estimates, boring etc. are made solely to
furnish a basis of completion of tenders and the Govt. does not guarantee on represent
that, they are given approximately correct. The contractor shall satisfy himself by his own
inquiry, investigation and search regarding all materials effecting the work to be done and
labour and materials needed and shall make himself reliance thereon.
The work including in this contract, shall be carried out in accordance with the
specifications, rules and regulations as laid down in the books mentioned below in order
of the property.In the absence of provision in tenders papers the provision and standards
laid down in the books mentioned below in order of priority shall be followed
(1) M.O.S.T. book of specification for road and bridge works 5th Revision, 2013.
(2) Relevant latest I.S. and I.R.C. Standards.
(3) P.W.D. Hand Book Volume - I & II, latest edition. If the reference books quoted
above fall short for the items quoted in the schedule of this contract, reference
shall, be made to Indian Standard Specifications of the latest Edition. If any, of the
items of this contract are not covered by the reference books quoted above decision
and specifications as directed by the Chief Engineer, N.H. Gujarat shall be final.
This shall depend on the standard specifications followed in difference countries of
the world for the items concerned.
3. PROGRAMME:
The Executive Engineer may at any time give direction as to in order and manner in which
the several parts of the work shall be carried out and the contractor shall strictly observe
such directions.
4. RETURNS:
- -
The contractor shall at all time be responsible for any damage and trespass committed by his
agent and working people in carrying out the work unless such trespass is authorized by
the Executive Engineer in writing.
The contractor shall furnish to the Executive Engineer every week during the progress of
the work classified weekly returns of the number of the people employed on the work
during the-work. The report of skilled labour shall be given in the proscribed form. The
contractor, if directed by the Executive Engineer shall increase or decrease the strength of
the labour both skilled and un-skilled, the contractor shall also furnish the following
returns.
(i) A weekly medical report showing the health of the Contractor’s camp and number
of their illness.
(ii) A report of any accident which may have occurred within 24 hours of its.
5. POLICE PROTECTION:
If a special protection of the camp or work of people is asked for by the contractor, the
Public Works Deptt. Shall arrange for such protection, if possible with the authorities
concerned and the full cost of the same shall be debited to contractor and recovered from
his bill.
The contractor shall procure his sole expenses all permits and licence and pay all charges
and fees for lawful execution of the work.
7. TEMPORARY QUARTERS:
The contractor will be required to make his own arrangement for the housing of all his
staff and work people during the execution of work.
The contractor shall maintain at his own expenses efficient staff as may be required by the
Engineer-in-chargeSuitable fire preventive measure to the satisfaction of the Executive
Engineer shall be taken by the contractor.
After months of the completion date, of the work or any extension granted thereof by the
Executive Engineer shall becomes the property of the P.W.D. and the contractor shall not
be entitled to any payments or compensation whatsoever in respect thereof.
8.All unused materials and all plants and equipments not removed by the contractor within two
months of the completion date of the works or any extension granted there of by the
Executive Engineer shall become the property of the public works Department
and the contractor shall not be entitled to any payment or compensation whatsoever in
respect thereof.

(a) The contractor shall follow rules regarding medical and sanitary arrangements to
be provided in labour camps as mentioned in tender and as per rules in force and
amended from time to time.
(b) The contractor shall make arrangement for all anti Malaria measures, to be
provided for the labour employed on the work. The Anti Malaria measures shall be
as directed by the Assistant Director of Public Health and local authority.
The contractor will not permitted to sublet any of the work without permission of the P.
W. D.
If the P.W.D. gives permission for any part of the work to be sublet, the main contractor
shall take full responsibility for the quality of work. Before ordering subletting of ft work,
the contractor shall submit the name of the sub-contactor proposed for the -approval of the
P.W.D. and shall afterwards sent the two copies of the orders for the works proposed to
the subletted. While submitting the name of the sub-contractor for approval, manufactures
or makers, if the name of the makers shall be submitted. The sublet orders shall contain all
necessary information given in the specification to unable to sub-contractor or supplier in
more, in accordance therewith.
The sublet order shall contain the time In with the sub-contractor undertake the delivery of
the materials or the completion or non completion as affecting the time given In this
tender for the completion of the whole contract.
The contractor shall employ skilled and fully experienced engineer for carrying out the
work. Before employing a skilled and experienced Resident Engineer, the contractor shall
obtain the previous permission and approval of the Superintending Engineer for making
such appointment as to the suitability and eligibility of the Resident Engineer. The
Resident Engineer shall be considered at any time to be acting for the contractor with full
responsibility in every respect. While submitting such proposal, the qualifications and
experience' of the persons shall be fully listed. it must be seen that person with proven and
sufficient experience shall be preferred.
The Standard specifications, the plants, the special provisions and all supplementary
documents are essential parts of the contract and requirement occurring in one shall be
binding as though in occurring in all. They shall be intended to be co-operative to describe
and provide for a complete work. Incase of disagreement the plant shall have procurence
over the standard specifications. Figures, dimensions shall given over scale dimension. In
any case such variation shall be decided by the Superintending Engineer.

(i) For Resident Engineer, Agent and employees of the contractor, contractor shall
provide proper facilities.
(ii) The inspection of the work shall not relieve the contractor from his obligation to
fulfill the terms of the contract as herein prescribed by the plans and specification.
(iii) The contractor shall furnish written information to the Executive Engineer stating
the original sources of supply and dates of manufacturing of all materials brought
or manufactured away from the actual site of the work.
(iv) The contractor shall furnish the Executive Engineer with every reasonable facility
as assistance for ascertaining whether or not the work performed is in accordance
with the requirements and instructions of the Plans and estimates and specification,
if so, directed the contractor any times before and after considered. Necessary for
fresh inspection at his own cost. After the inspection, the contractor shall restore
the said portion of the work to the conditions required by the specifications at his
own cost.
(v) In order to ensure a proper time sequence for required inspection and approval, this
Information shall be furnished at least two weeks before of otherwise as directed
by the Executive Engineer in advance of the use of incorporation in the work of
any such materials and this shall be given In writing by the contractor.
(vi) Failure to reject any defective work of materials, any time will not is any way,
prevent luster rejection when such defect is discovered or observed.obligate the
Department to the final acceptance.
(vii) Supervision of work
The work also proposed to be technically audited by the consultant for which the
contractor will have to extend all co-operation in collection of sample laboratory
testing and mix design etc.
14. The contractor shall obtain from P.W.D. stations of the place or places, where it is
permitted for his to deposit the materials excavated. The contractor shall accept the site as
he funds it, and any work that may go necessary to carry out, the contractor shall be
provided for in his contract price.
15. The contractor shall be responsible for the true and proper setting out of the works and or
the correctness of the positions, levels, dimensions, and alignments of all parts of the
works and for the provisions of all necessary instruments appliances and labour in
connection therewith. If any time, during the progress of the works any error shall appear
or arised in the positions, levels dimensions or alignment or any part of the works. The
contractor shall at his own expenses, rectify such errors is based on the correct dab
supplied in writing by Executive Engineer in which case the expense of rectifying the
same shall be borne by the Govt. The checking or any setting out or any line or level by
the Executive Engineer or his representative shall not in any way, relieve the contractor of
his responsibilities for the correctness thereof. The Contractor shall carefully protect and
procure all bench marks, site, nails, pegs and other thing used in setting at work.
16. As order book shall be provided and maintained by the contractor for the work and the
contractor shall sign the orders given by the department and shall carry them out. Work
order book is the property of the Govt. and shall remaining the custody of Govt. That is
supervisory staff on duty. Compliance shall be carried out promptly and reported to the
Executive Engineer In good time so that work can be chocked.

17. EXTRA - ITEM RATE UST:
Incase of the extra items, the contractor shall invariably supply the rate analysis based on
the labour, materials, required in the items along with his quotations for the items. The
rate of extra items shall be decided by the competent authority of the department. The
final decision of the competent authority of the P.W.D. regarding rates, specifications etc.
shall be binding upon the contractor. The decision of competent authority shall be final.
18. As petty items, occurring in the work and as found necessary actual execution shall be
carried out in general as per P.W.D. Hand Book Volume-I and 11 latest edition and as per
general specification current in division and as per orders of the Executive Engineer from
time to time.
19. It shall be distinctly and dearly understood that commodity of the contract and
specifications, on the ground of custom prevailing is not be allowed. Extra charges of
claims in respect of the extra works will not be allowed unless the work to which they
related is clearly beyond the spirit and meaning of the specifications or unless such work
are ordered of the specified manner before the work is taken in hand, in writing by the
Executive Engineer..
20. The contractor shall provide all labour and pegs, strings and other materials as required for
lining and measuring all the work without any payment from the Government.
21. The dimensions, figures and drawing etc. shall be followed as supplied by the Executive
Engineer or by the Architect from time to time. No claims or dispute from contractor shall
be entertained due to charge in plans or detailed drawings.
22. The contractor shall provide suitable stones with flat top and temporary bench mark, page,
required for lining out and fixing the necessary levels without any extra cost. If required
such stones may be build in masonry at such places and in such manner as the Executive
Engineer or his Assistant in charge of the work determines.
23. All purpose connected with work, the contractor are required to make their own
arrangements for a sufficient supply, or water or, quality and quantity and at such places
on the work as may be ordered by the Executive Engineer. The rate quoted in the contract
are for completed work and shall cover all the contractor's cost in supplying water to the
terms stipulated in the clause of this contract. Incase the contractor was to make use of
plots, adjacent to work site, for stacking materials etc. they have to approach owners of
these plots or such other authority and make their own arrangements. The Executive
Engineer will not be held responsible for any complaints on such cases from anybody.
24. Every spot on the work and site shall be kept clear of accumulation of debris from time to
time.
25. All the materials to be used in the work may from time to time subject to test as per
relevant IS or directed by the Executive Engineer at the expenses of the Contractor.
26. Notwithstanding that, all proper precautions may have been taken by the contractor during
the progress of the work, the contractor shall be hold responsible for all damages, whether

to the work under execution or to any other property or live persons during the progress of
work and the period maintenance.
27. The site of the work after the completion of the work shall be given to the sub division
officer-in-charge in neat and clean conditions after removing all the rubbish laying in
compound of ground.
28. The contractor shall as far as possible employ the labours work giving priority to the
labour besides locally.
29.Theboard stating the detailed specifications and details of work as per overnment Circular
No.TNC-1090-24-S, Dated 17-08-2002, should be erected as directed on the site of work
by the contractor without claiming extrafor the same.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF THE CONTRACT
The bidders are requested to read, understand and take note of the following conditions
before bidding for the work
1. The work must be started by the successful bidder within 10 days for the date of issue of
the work order.
2. No extension in time limit for payment of security deposit shall be granted.
3. Once paver work is started there shall not be any break except on account of rainy season
or force majors. If work is suspended after starting penalty at rate of Rs. 25000/day shall
be levied in addition to the penalty applicable.
4. Agency must submit list of machinery proposed to be deployed on the work/works
along with current location, existing commitments to be met with these machineries, and
stipulated/targeted date of completion of the existing commitments.
5. There is concurrent bidding for works and tenders are Onlineinvited vide tender notice 01of
2015-16. looking to the urgency bidder/bidders intending to bid for any of the work/works
mentioned in above tender notice shall note that all the works are required to be started
simultaneous, immediately upon award of the work & time limit for completion of work is
including monsoon period.
6. Even if one bidder stood lowest for more than one work, all the works awarded to him
shall be required to start simultaneous. Hence all the bidder intending to bid for more than
one work mentioned in above tender notice shall ensure availability of set of machineries
for each work.
7. No extension in time limit on ground of having more works on hand and deployment of
machineries to another works shall be allowed.
8. The Batch Type Hot Mix Plant having it capacity 100-120 TPH shall be Used only

SPECIAL CONDITIONS

The methodology and equipment to be used on the project shall be furnished by the
contractor to the engineer well, in advance of commencement of work and approval of the
Engineer obtained prior to its adoption and use.
The contractor shall give a trial run of the equipment for establishing its capability to
achieve the laid down specification and tolerance to the satisfaction of the Engineer before
commencement of work, if so desired by the Engineer.
All equipment provided shall be proven efficiency and shall be operated and maintained at
all times in a manner acceptable to the Engineer.
No equipment or personnel will be removed from site without permission of the Engineer.
The contractor shall furnish his programme of construction for execution of the work
within the stipulated time schedule together with methodology of construction of each
item of work and obtain the approval of the Engineer prior to actual commencement of
work.
In case of slippage from the approved work programme at any stage, the contractor shall
furnish revised programme to make or the slippage within the stipulated time schedule and
obtain the approval of the Engineer to the revised programme. This is suggesting of
special conditions for bituminous surface work with hot mix plant and paver finisher
(Govt. circular No.SSR-1087-205-21-C dtd. 29-10-87 and dt.27-9-89).
The provisions of said special conditions for hot mix plant work shall prevail over all
other conditions.

4.0 Action In case of disproportionate progress
In case of extremely poor progress of the work or any item at any stage of work which in
the opinion of the Engineer can not be made good by the contractor considering his
available resources, the Engineer will get it accelerated to makeup the lost time through
any other agency and recover the additional cost incurred if any, in getting the work done
from the contractor after informing him in writing about the action envisaged by him.
Setting out the work as spelt out in Clause-109 of Ministry's specifications for Road and
Bridge Works (5th Revision) will be carried out by the contractor.
Action for arrangement for traffic during construction will be taken by the contractor as
envisaged in the contract documents and spelt out in Clause-112 of Ministry's
55specification for Road and Bridge Works (5th Revision).
The onus of achieving quality of work will be on the contractor who will take actions as
stipulated in Section - 900 of Ministry's specification for Road and Bridge Works (5th
Revision).
9.0 Ministry’s specification for Road and Bridge Works (5th Revision Aug-01)
The Ministry's specification for Road and Bridge Works (5th Revision) will form part of
the contract documents and the contractor will be legally bound to the various stipulations
made therein unless and otherwise specifically relaxed or waived wholly or partly through
a special clause in the contract document.
10.0 Documentation
The contractor will prepare drawing(s) of the work as constructed and will supply original
with three copies to the Engineer who will verify and certify these drawings. Final as
constructed drawing(s) shall then be prepared by the contractor and supplied in triplicate
along with a micro film of the same to the Engineer for record and reference purpose.
11.0 The use of batch typehotmix plant having it capacity of 100-120 TPH for mixing bitumen
and aggregate use of Mechanical sensor paver for laying the mix, mechanical sprayer for
tack coat and tandem vibratory roller are compulsory for this work.

12.0 The work shall be executed with the equipment as per M.O.S.T., Specification
(5thRevision) where in details of the types of equipments are given in various
specifications, and in accordance with instruction contained in Ministry Circular No.
RWNH/33065/90-D-O-55, dated 06-04-90 in respect of paver finisher for bituminous
work.
13.0 Bidder is instructed to see that the Security Deposit must be paid within in ten days from
the date of the notification of acceptance of his tender. In case of failure to do so,

1.0 If the member of Labour co-operative societies do not work themselves and obtain
commission by subletting the work, as a whole or by dividing work in groups and given
work to piece workers, the very purpose of the scheme would be defected. Therefore the
labour co-operative societies will not sublet the work and the works will be executed by
the member labour of the society.
2.0 In case, where the works required to be carried out by the labourers other than the
members of the labour co-operative societies with the man days more than 25 prior
permission of, the Executive Engineer will be necessary.
3.0 The labour co-operative societies shall have to allow the officers of the cooperative
societies department to examine for audit purposes, the muster rolls as and when required.
4.0 Labour co-operative societies shallhave to submit a quarterly returns statingthe monthly
attendance of man-days on the, muster rolls of members labourson each work to the
District Registrar as well as the Executive Engineer.
5.0 If the labour co-operative society is found -violating the terms and conditionsmentioned
above, the labour co-operative society will liable for thecancellation of work contract and
or Registration as decided by the ExecutiveEngineer.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS FOR BITUMINOUS SURFACE WORKS
WITH USE OF BATCH TYPE HOT MIX PLANT AND PAVER FINISHER.
1. The Batch type hot mixed plant having it capacity 100-120 TPH and accessories
to be used for the work shall be conformity with the specifications prescribed
vide Govt. of India, Ministry of Road Transport and Highway. The Plant shall be
equipped with all units and accessories as per latest I.S. Specification.
2. The work of laying aggregate mixed with bitumen shall start on site or work
only after 8.00 hours in the morning and continue up to 17.00 hrs. in winter
season and up to 18.30 hours in summer. No work shall be done except during
the period mentioned above and also on Sundays and National Holidays viz.
26th January, 15th August and 2nd October.
3. The contractor shall invariably get the job mix formula for the mix approved by
the Engineer-in-Charge before starting the work.
4. The laying work of bitumen surface by paver finisher will not be allowed after
31st May of year or on set of Monsoon whichever is earlier.
5. Riding quality of treated reach is brought to at least 2000 mm/km.
6. VG-30 (60/70) grade bitumen having softening point greater than 45 shall be
used for mixing and Emulsion shall be used in tack coat.

REQUIREMENT FOR ESSENTIAL FEATURE FOR PAVER FINISHER.
A] Loading hoppers and suitable distributing mechanism.
B] All devices having hydrostatic drive/control.
C] The machine shall have a hydraulically extendable screed or appropriate
width requirements.
D] The screed shall have tamping and vibrating arrangement for initial
compaction to the layer as it is spread without rutting or otherwise marring
the surface. It shall have adjustable amplitude and infinitely variable
frequency.
E] The paver shall be equipped with necessary control mechanism so as to
ensure that the finished surface is free from surface blemishes.
F] The paver shall be fitted with an Mechanical control device to leveling and
profile control within the specified tolerance
G] The screed shall have the internal heating arrangement 20 mm M.S.S. can be
laid by means of self propelled mechanical paver with suitable screeds
capable of spreading, temping and finishing the mix true to the specified
lines, grades and cross section. Dense Bituminous macadam (clause-507)
semi dense bituminous concrete of thickness more than 20mm (clause-511)
and bituminous concrete (clause-512) shall, however be laid only with paver
finisher having essential features as spelt out in clause 504.3.5. The paver
shall be fitted with an electronic sensing device for automatic leveling and
profile control within the specified tolerance.

Boards Work
1.0 Warranty certificate for five year and seven years, for Engineering and High
intensity grade of signs from sheeting manufacturer should be given at time
of supplying of the boards.
2.0 A certificate of authorization from the sheeting manufacturer should be
submitted at the time of supplying of the boards.
3.0 The responsibility for handing, upkeep and safety of the boards lies with the
contractor until the completion of work and final payment are released.
4.0 Contractor will have to ensure how he is going to arrange repair or
replacement of defective boards after intimation from the div8ision, what
maximum time for completion will be required by the contractor.
