and the core enables noise-free status with the help of special
anti-rust oil treatment.
■ Various accessories can be attached easily.
■ Terminal wiring is designed to meet IEC 60529 and protection
degree of IP 20.
■ By using clips, HiMC’s coil can be replaced easily and its
frequency is available in both 50 Hz and 60 Hz.

Fast and Easy Coil Change

HiMC 65 ~ HiMC 800 Large Frame Size Contactor

■ The electrical and mechanical life of HiMC has been

significantly extended. The optimized design of the arc chamber
minimizes contact erosion.
■ HiMC contactor maintains noise-free operation through the
DC-control method.
■ HiMC contactor is available in both AC/DC and 50 Hz / 60 Hz
with an electronic circuit which enables operation through
Variety of Installation
severe voltage drop.
■ HiMC contactors can be used in various environments by
adopting special plastic(CTI/600 V) which has heat & waterproof
charateristics.
■ By adopting a cassette unit, the coil assembly can be replaced
conveniently.
■ As the cover of HiMC contactor can be easily opened,
maintenance is very convenient.
■ Two auxiliary contact blocks of 1NO+1NC can be attached to

Electrical Endurance in AC-3 Duty (380~440VAC) Selection of AC3 & AC4 Contactors
◆When the frequency of operation is lower than the
recommendation, motor output can be increased, but should not
exceed the making and breaking capacities of the contactor.
If thermal overload relay is used, the short-circuit protection
should be carefully considered and the recommended fuse ratings
should not be exceeded.
◆The contactors can be chosen considering the electrical
endurance by means of the diagrams.
◆The electrical endurance of the contactor for AC-3, AC-4 duty can
be calculated using this formula.

Accessory

Surge Absorber

◆Surge Absorber drops surge voltage, which is 10~20 times of the rated voltage occurred at the
operation of the contactor or auxiliary switch, to below 3 times of rated voltage.

◆It is suitable for PLC control circuit.

◆Damage to electronic parts from high surge voltage is prevented by the use of surge absorber.

◆Applicable to 50 Hz and 60 Hz.

Electronic Motor Protector

EMP(Hyundai electronic motor protector) is a high tech device, which protects motors from damages by
detecting overload and phase loss.

Features

◆Various wiring methods are available for the main line, such as
Pin type, Screw type, and Tunnel type.

◆An EMP can be used as an ampere meter to measure the

actual load current, and can be adjusted up to 103% of actual
load current.

HME-E Series
◆Test function enables the EMP to perform self-operating test
and circuit test.

◆Both 110VAC and 220VAC are applicable on an EMP and

power consumption is optimized by adopting condenser drop
circuit.

◆Control circuit achieves high reliability under the inching and

pulsatory load.

◆Temperature compensating circuit prevents the EMP from

being influenced by ambient temperature.
HME-S Series
◆Large load protection is available through the external current
transformer type.

◆HME-H is the Pin type EMP, so it can be connected to a

magnetic contactor directly. Hi Series

Time and Current Setting

1) Delay time setting (D-Time knob)

This setting applies in HME-S only.
The D-time knob is to be at the expected start time.
If the setting (D-Time) is shorter than appropriate starting time, the relay will be tripped through the
overload indicator and the operation will be delayed during the setting time.

2) Operating time setting (O-Time knob)

The O-Time knob is to be at the expected start time.

3) Current setting (Load knob)

After motor starting the load knob is to be turned in the counter-clockwise direction slowly until the
LED flickers.
This flickering point indicates 100% value of the actual load current. By the load knob, the actual load
current can be measured without an ammeter.

4) The load knob is to be turned in the clockwise direction until the LED light goes out. This point
indicates 103% of the actual load current.
