The nursing intervention will include teaching the client to manage stress, avoid foods that increase blood pressure, and take medications as prescribed. The short term goals are for the client to verbalize ways to manage stress and have normal blood pressure after 8 hours. The long term goal is for the client to not experience hypertension after 1 week of nursing intervention. Evaluation shows the intervention was effective in managing the client's blood pressure.
