Using the Production Planning and Scheduling Spreadsheet
Cell Color Scheme
There are three types of cells in the "Master Production Schedule" worksheet:
Light green cells are for model parameters and global variables
Tan cells are for decision variables
White cells are for formulas (these are locked and do not allow editing)

Making your own formulas, despite the worksheet protection

Since the "Master Production Schedule" sheet is protected, input is only allowed in the green and tan cells.
Therefore, in order to make calculations based upon the model (such as costs), you must first insert a new worksheet.
You will be able to create your own formulas there, which can reference the calculated values in other sheets.

Cell Comments
Comments can be found on many of the heading cells in the "Master Production Schedule" worksheet.
These comments give a description of the quantity and an idea of how it is calculated.
To view a comment, simply hold the mouse cursor over a cell that has a red triangular tab in the corner.
