Assignment on CRM

In aviation, all the persons in relation to flying are known as


aviation crew. The main aviation crews’ are-

1) The pilots.
2) Cabin crew
3) Air traffic controllers
4) Aviation Engineers
5) Aviation Maintenance Engineers
6) Aviation Ground Persons
7) Aviation Flight Managers
8) The persons who working in the aviation industries.

In aviation, all the persons are technically competent but during


emergency we are unable to utilize all the available resources
satisfactory so accident occurs. To perform a job, we need
technical knowledge and non-technical skills are included in the
Crew Resource Management. The important non-technical
resources are-

 Good Mind: It is a very important thing in aviation sight.


This is the first & important thing in aviation.
 Good Body: This is also necessary to perform a duty of any
aviation person. Without good body aviation works is risk
able!
 Time: As we know, “Time & Tide wait for none!” So,
everybody should do their works on time. Timing maintains
is too important to work in aviation.
 Money: Nowadays, money is mandatory to everywhere.
Especially in aviation, money must be there.
 Training: To perform a job in aviation, everyone should
have training before joining a job in aviation.
 Memory: Every aviation person should have very good

memory skills. Otherwise, they couldn’t perform very well in
there.
 Communication: There are more types of communication.
In aviation, if there have any communication failure that it
can cause accidents. Even there are more chances to
happen any communication mistake so that every aviation
person should have a CRM training course. As example:
Communication between pilot & Cabin crew, Communication
between maintenance engineer & ground people.
 Decision Making: Decision making is one of the essential
things in aviation. Before doing any work, anyone should
make a perfect decision first.
 Conflict Resolution: There have been a number of
examples of peaceful conflict resolution in places that have
been hot spots for decades. Potentials for human
communication allow discussion, contestation, and the use
of the human imagination to stimulate innovation and
conflict resolution in aviation.
 Leadership: Being a good leader involves developing and
displaying good character. Pilots and other members of the
aviation community vary in their definition of leadership.
Some believe that leadership involves influencing people by
providing purpose, direction and motivation while operating
to accomplish the mission and improve the organization.
 Followership: Followership is characterized by supportive
technical, cognitive and interpersonal skills in aviation. Even
Followership is proactive without diminishing the authority of
the captain. It is an active role that holds the potential for
leadership.
 Critique: There are so many kind of critique in aviation. But
two common misconceptions about the critique should be
corrected at the outset. First, a critique is not a step in the
grading process. It is a step in the learning process. Second,

a critique is not necessarily negative in content. A critique
also can be used as a tool for retouching.
 Briefing etc.: Briefings are an essential part of flight
preparation and represent a critical moment for team
building, leadership establishment and an opportunity to
gather and select all operational data pertinent to the
upcoming flight. In-depth takeoff, cruise and approach/go-
around briefings should be conducted before each flight to
ensure understanding among crewmembers and the
effective application of crew resource management.
