Rape Trauma Care Guide

The patient is experiencing symptoms of rape trauma syndrome including flashbacks, difficulty sleeping, loss of appetite, crying more, and restlessness. Nursing interventions over the next week will assess for suicidal ideation, feelings of guilt or blame, and hypervigilance to ordinary situations. The goals are for the patient to experience decreased anxiety symptoms, openly discuss the assault and treatment, and identify a support system. After 1 week of interventions, the goal is met as symptoms decrease and a support system is established.
