3.0 DEVIATIONS FROM SPECIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

3.1 Suppliers shall clearly define, in their quotations, any deviations from the requirements of the enquiry
package and /or from the requirements of any reference specification, code or standard noted in, or
attached to, the Enquiry.

3.2 These deviations shall be listed in a separate section of the quotation entitled
"Exceptions to Specification"

3.3 Where there are no deviations, Suppliers shall state in their quotations
"No Deviations ".

3.4 Once a Purchase Order has been awarded, no deviations, other than those that were listed in a quotation
and accepted by the Company in writing will be considered.

4.0. TRACEABILITY REQUIREMENTS

4.1 APPLICATION

4.1.1 It is a requirement that bulk materials and fittings supplied by the Supplier can be traced back to a valid
material certificate or similar document to ISO 10474 3.1B or EN 10204 Type 3.1B.

4.1.2 Traceability is required for any item or batches of items that are covered by a material certificate,
manufacturers certificate, test certificate or type approval certificate.

4.1.3 The method of traceability will be via the purchase order number, item number/computer code no. and
cast/heat number referred to hereon as the traceability reference, permanently marked on to bulk purchased
flanges, fittings and valves as defined on the marking matrix (Appendix A).

4.1.4 All spectacle blinds, spade blinds and spacers are to be treated as flanges.

4.1.5 All bolting and gaskets are to be treated as small pipe fittings.

5.0 PROCEDURE

5.1 Supplier will supply bulk material and fittings in the following manner.

5.1.1 Each size, range and type will be identified e.g. pressure range for flanges, schedules for pipe and fittings.

5.1.2 The bulk material Supplier shall identify each range with the traceability reference in accordance with the
attached Matrix (Appendix A). Items will be individually marked in accordance with the material category as
identified on the Matrix except for small fittings where the requirement specified permits marking or tagging on
containers. Guidance notes on the latter are provided below. In all cases the associated certification must
contain the traceability references described.

5.1.3 It must be noted that where hard stamping is specified, this will always be of the round nose type.

5.1.4 Tagged items are defined as commodities which are too small for individual traceability marking and the tag
which is attached to the items must contain all the relevant information required of para 4.1.3.

Bulk Materials – Traceability, marking and colour coding. Sheet 7 of 16

Agip KCO KE01.00.000.KD.P.ST.0009.000
KDPC Rev F01 Dec 2002

5.1.5 Tagged items (fittings 50mm diameter and below, valves 25mm and below) must be tagged in batches of
handleable size. Batch size may decrease as diameter increases. Non-destructible tags (metal tags shall be
stainless steel with identification stamped on) will be secured with stainless steel wire threaded through each
item.

5.1.6 It is acceptable for small fittings to be bagged provided that the bags are fully weatherproof, robust and
secured at the neck. Bagging is most suitable for small diameter threadolets/weldolets etc. Bags are to have
non-destructible tags (metal tags shall be stainless steel with identification stamped on) secured with stainless
steel wire.

5.1.7 No item may be marked with the traceability reference until it has passed such tests as may be required by
either the appropriate bulk materials specifications or any such tests as may be required by the Contractor and
has been positively identified against the relevant material certificate(s). The computer material control code
number, as indicated on the requisition/purchase order will also be used as part of the marking procedure.

5.1.8 This specification shall also apply to pipe support material purchased from stock holders.

For the marking and colour coding for all bulk materials (as listed in Appendix A), the Suppliers shall conform to the
following requirements. These requirements do not overrule any special requirements, which may be addressed in the
purchase order or material specification. The materials shall be marked in accordance with the requirements of
Appendix A and to suit the following methods:-

5.2 DIE STAMP

Each item, where applicable, shall be die stamped with:

5.2.1 Purchase order number/item number, computer code number, heat or cast number, type of steel and grade
manufacturer's brand mark.

5.2.2 The die stamp digits shall be at least 8mm high and ringed with white paint for ease of identification. The die
stamp shall be located in accordance with Appendix B

5.2.3 All die stamping shall be carried out using round nosed dies.

5.3 MARKING

Marking where indicated to be permissible:

5.3.1 Each item shall be marked in white waterproof ink (or similar).

- purchase order number, item number, computer code number

- item size, rating nom. diameter and wall thickness etc.

- material grade according to the material specification

5.3.2 The digits shall be at least 20mm high and shall be located in accordance with Appendix B.

5.3.3 All tubulars shall also be stencilled in white with the marking requirements of API 5L or API 5LX etc.

5.3.4 Marking for substitute material shall be proposed and approved at the same time as approval is given for the
substitution.

5.4 COLOUR CODING

5.4.1 Pipe will be identified by means of a one inch wide stripe of paint along the entire length (½" wide stripe for
smaller sizes e.g. 1½" NB and below).

5.4.2 Fittings to have a stripe of paint (width as above) along entire length. Circumferential bands of paint around
fitting will not be acceptable. Flanges edge circumference to be fully painted (except where this may obliterate
identification stampings), then the whole remaining area must be painted around this edge.

5.4.3 The colour code shall be as per the chart Appendix C.

Bulk Materials – Traceability, marking and colour coding. Sheet 8 of 16
Agip KCO KE01.00.000.KD.P.ST.0009.000
KDPC Rev F01 Dec 2002

5.4.4 Colours shall be in accordance with BS 4800/RAL 840 HR.

Alternative standards will be accepted with prior agreement of the Contractor.

5.4.5 All paint for colour coding and stencil marking shall be applied to a clean, dry, oil-free surface, shall be able to
resist weathering for at least six months and shall be free from Cadmium, Lead, Zinc, Copper and Tin and low
in chloride content.

5.5 PROTECTIVE COATINGS

All materials shall be supplied without the addition of protective surface coatings, unless specified otherwise in
the purchase order.

6.0 APPLICATION OF MARKING MATRIX

The following notes must be read as guidance to the application of the marking matrix attached in Appendix A.

6.1 The matrix indicates various methods for marking traceability references on bulk materials of each type. When
more than one method is listed for a particular type of material, the Supplier should select one method and
consistently apply it to that material category.

6.2 The requirement to mark traceability references on bulk materials as per this Specification does not supersede
the Supplier's normal practice in marking Purchase Order information on containers, packaging, bundles etc.

6.3 It must be noted that the marking methods listed in the matrix define the marking requirements for items large
enough to be marked individually.

6.4 Pipe fittings diameter 50mm and below shall be tagged in batches in accordance with Section 5.0 of this
Specification.

6.5 Valves diameter 25mm and below shall be tagged in batches, in accordance with Section 5.0 of this
Specification.

6.6 The marking requirements of this Specification may, in special circumstances, be complemented by additional
marking instructions contained in the Purchase Order and referenced Specification.

6.7 The package Supplier shall always check the Purchase Order documentation for special circumstances
requiring additional marking.

6.8 Where engraving is used, the traceability reference shall be applied to a painted (yellow) background and
circled with a white paint for ease of location.
