Mathematics in the Modern World

I’ve always find Mathematics a fascinating subject. As we all know,

Mathematics is everywhere, surrounding every corner of the world. And it is
used in basically everything, in education, technology, and into our day-to-day
activities. In the words of mathematician Stan Gudder, “The essence
of mathematics is not to make simple things complicated, but to make
complicated things simple.”
In my elementary days, I used to be good at math. But as I take on my
junior high school journey, I was drained and bombarded by the school
activities. Suddenly, math was quite complicated for me, and I grew weary of
it.  But as I grow older, the words of Stan Gudder made sense. The increasing
progress of technology were made through the use of mathematics. We won’t
be able to create and learn things without math. On the other hand, we need to
have a strong foundation in order to fully understand mathematics. Most of the
students treat math as their waterloo, and honestly, it’s really because they
lack strong foundation when they learned math.
I want to learn more about math and I know determination and grit will
be a handful in doing so. I know I will learn in my own pace and with the help
of my instructors. I am looking forward to the lessons that will surely enhance
my knowledge in mathematics.
