The document provides calculations for the booster pump and pneumatic tank sizing for the North Dagon Hospital project. It calculates the total water supply flow rate needed as 656.60 wsfu (water supply fixture units) or 152.81 USgpm (US gallons per minute). It determines that 3 booster pumps with a design flow rate of 61.13 usgpm each would be required. It also sizes the pneumatic tank at 500 liters to maintain water pressure between 90-110 psi. Notes specify assumptions for public space water needs like pools and water tanks.

Pnuematic Tank Sizing

Design Flow Rate = 61.13 usgpm
Assume 4% of minium water draw from system 2.45 usgpm
for 10 minute draw out water 24.45 usgal
Max Pressure = 110.00 Psi
Min Pressure = 90.00 Psi
In order for simple and easy calculation assume minium pressure to be 90 psi and max pressure to be 110 psi
(P2-P1)/P2 = 0.160
Vd
Vt =
(P2-P1)/P2
= 152.81 usgal
= 578.47 Litters
Desing Pnuematic Tank Size = 500.00 Litters x 1 nos

NOTE :
The following assumption were made for public spaces
- Swimming pool make up water to fill within 1 hr and the flow rate required is ~ 1gpm.
- Above ground water tank to fill within 2 hr and the flow rate required is ~ 18gpm.
Water Flow Rate Value were derived from Table E 103.3(3) of International Plumbing Code based on Accmu; wsfu of Column 5.
