Thermanit 17-06 (Boehler)

This document provides information on Thermanit 17/06, a basic covered electrode for welding and surfacing stainless steels and corrosion-resistant alloys containing 13-17% chromium and nickel. It can join materials like 1.4405 and 1.4418 stainless steel grades. The electrode provides corrosion resistance similar to the base materials and has higher resistance to corrosion fatigue than Thermanit 13/04. Preheating of 100-150°C is recommended for materials up to 10mm thick, and 150-200°C for thicker materials. The weld metal has a martensitic structure and can be quenched and tempered.
