BLOG
A blog is like a public diary, written from a personal point of view, but also written to share the
writer's thoughts, feelings and beliefs with others. Its convention is similar to the diary entry or
the magazine article, depending on its topic, audience and level of formality.
LANGUAGE
* will use first person narration & will show awareness of the reader, e.g. through direct address
to the reader
* may include a direct request for comment and response at the end
The aim of the text intends to describe, narrate, entertain, recommend or persuade the
writer’s audience that is encompassed by friends, family members or groups with a
common interest.

CHARACTERISTICS The format of the blog is similar to the personal dairy format.
It is divided into paragraphs, the first one containing a brief
introduction to the topic-generally a short sentence with captures the
attention of the reader, a catching sentence, even a rhetorical
question.
Depending on the length of the blog, it should include at least one
paragraph developing the idea (s), as well as a brief conclusion.
The style depends on the topic of the blog.

a specific topic rather than a series of events.
if you choose to write a topic-based blog, it is also important to write about an issue that interest
you; one that you have some passion for. It is also important to have a clear point of view. This
will give your blog a focus.
A thesis-driven blog is likely to contain more descriptive details than an essay because it is a
more personal form of writing. You may not be chatty but you surely need to describe your
reflections.
