TTS Abrasive Perforating Procedure
TTS Abrasive Perforating Procedure
Superior Service”
1. Hold safety meeting with all relevant personnel on location to discuss the following:
o Job Objective
o Responsibilities
o Access & Evacuation / Head Count
o Work Environment
o Hazards & Control
o PPE Requirements
o Contingency Plans
3. Make up CT connector and pull test against Pull Test plate. Make up the appropriate amount of lubricator beneath the
Injector Head; RIH with the connector through the riser to make up other tools in the string including the Motor Head
Assembly (MHA) and Abrasive Perforating Assembly.
4. Rig up the injector head and accessories on the wellhead and make up connection tightly.
5. Conduct a pressure test on the rig up for 15 min; slowly bleed off to pressure in the well (if any) after test is confirmed.
6. Open up wellhead valves (ensure to count the number of turns to open each valve and secure open).
7. Commence RIH CT at 15 ft/min through wellhead and restrictions in the well. Increase RIH speed to 60 ft/min as soon as
clear of wellhead. Circulate at minimum rates while RIH to clean the wellbore down to perforating depth.
10. Circulate through the coiled tubing at 0.5 bbl/min. Increase Pump rate to match desired slurry pump rate (1/2 bpm per
nozzle).
11. Begin pumping the sand slurry. The recommended sand concentration is .5 lb -1.0 lb/gal 100 mesh Silica, and the
recommended flowrate is 0.5 bbl/min per nozzle. ***(3 nozzle perforator=1.5 bbl/min pump rate)***
12. Continue Pumping sand slurry until perforation is complete, minimum recommended volume to perforate tubing is 5 bbls
per nozzle.
13. Pump fresh water to clean clear slurry from coiled tubing and BHA.
The above is a guideline only and these recommendations are not intended to be hard and fast rules. Every operation is different and subject to
change by all TTS Field Representatives. These suggestions are meant only to assist and perhaps raise issues that may not otherwise be
considered.
