MarkLin and Julie Wedding Celebration

Call to Order: Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen! May I have your attention, please. We are about to
begin our early dinner reception so please locate your respective seats and make yourselves comfortable.
Once again, good evening to everyone and welcome to Marklin and Julie’s Reception. We are done with the
solemn part of the celebration and we thank those people who were with us earlier. To those who just join in,
Welcome!
So to start the ball rolling, let us begin this celebration with a prayer. Let us all stand and put ourselves in the
presence of God.
Opening Prayer:
Almighty Father, today we are witnesses to the Love shared by MARKLIN and JULIE. We thank you Lord for
giving us the opportunity to spend the abundance of love manifested in the maturity of marriage. Lord, we
seek your guidance and protection; comfort us and free us from any harm. At the same Lord we invite your
presence to light the path of the newlywed couple, as they journey together in their new lives. Prepare them
Lord in your blessed altar, the matrimony of living together no matter what will happen in the near future.
Give them the wisdom and the serenity of their hearts as we partake with them today our prayers for a
wonderful life. This we ask you through Christ, Our Lord. Amen.
Introduction/Opening: A wonderful afternoon to everyone! Family, friends, ladies, and gentlemen, this
afternoon, here at ____________ we celebrate faith, hope, and love!
My name is Maria Lucille, and I will be your host for this afternoon. On behalf of the newlywed couple, Mr.
Marklin and Mrs. Julie, I welcome you to this wedding reception. I would like to express their unfathomable
gratitude for your availability in giving yourselves to them. Indeed! it is a wonderful pleasure to have you all
today, sharing with the newly-weds this very special moment of their lives.
So just sit down, relax and enjoy the rest of the hours as we make ourselves present today together!

It is said that MARRIAGE is the ultimate union of husband and wife. And the center of it is LOVE. It is love that
serves as a creative driving force in order to attract two persons of different personalities to stick together, to
understand each other, and to live with each no matter what, no matter how. This is the magic of love.
According to God’s word, “Love is patient, kind, without envy. It is not boastful or arrogant. It is not ill-
mannered or does it seek its own interest. Love overcomes anger and forgets offenses. It does not take delight
in wrong, but rejoices in truth. Love excuses everything, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all
things.”
In love we come to understand why even the impossible things are happening. Why even in the worst
situations we calm, and why even despite of one’s failure and frailties in life we appreciate the beauty of
pains.
Love seized the magic of living together and of sharing together. As love foretold its revelation, let us all
prepare ourselves to give way to the entourage in arrays;

GRAND ENTRANCE: This afternoon, calls for a grand celebration! And now… the BIG moment we’ve been
waiting for… I’ll have to ask everybody to stand up, up on your feet and direct your eyes to the hallway…
Ladies and gentlemen it is my honor and privilege to introduce to you for the first time as Husband and Wife,
our lovely newlyweds – MR AND MRS (MARKLIN) AND (JULIE) (________)! Mabuhay ang bagong kasal!
CONGRATULATIONS and best wishes to both of you. We wish you to be blessed with a long and happy life
together with your future children. So there you have it ladies and gentlemen our new lovely couple. Let us
again give them a big round of applause!!

Now it is said that Wedding Traditions of different cultures from generation to generation have told us varied
observance of wedding rites. But what makes the essence of this celebration meaningful is the fact that the
“FACETS OF LOVE” underscores the lives of the couple.
This time ladies and gentlemen let us witness some of the practices which are being observed in every
wedding ceremony but let us just observe the health protocols.
First Dance: Tonight is indeed a special night, and will be forever etched in the memory of our beloved couple.
On this joyful beginning what could be more fitting than to celebrate it with their first dance. The first dance is
symbolic of the consummation of their wedding vows. This dance is the wedding couple’s first cooperative
engagement and joint endeavor. Ladies and gentlemen, it is once again my privilege to present to you, Mr.
and Mrs. (surname of couple), for their first dance. A round of applause please.
Money Dance: Ladies and gentlemen, find your purses and wallets. It’s now time for our money dance where
you will get your chance to financially bless our couple… Thank you all for your generosity that will indeed go a
long way for the couple.
Wine Toast:
This time, let’s fill our glasses with any drink that we could get and join the best man, ______ for the symbolic
wine toast.
Para sa mahabang pagsasama puno nang pagmamahalan, paguunawaan at pagbibigayan, _____ at ____
maligayang bati at KAMPAY!!! Cheers everyone!
Prayer for the food: It is said that a successful marriage involves three hearts becoming one. The hearts of the
husband, the wife, and God at the center. So let us give thanks to the one who made this all possible, the
author of life, love and relationships. Our one true God. I am requesting everyone to stand. To lead us into
prayer, and also to say grace before meals, let us welcome (name).
Pictorial / Buffet Dinner
Well I guess the food is now ready and dinner will commence shortly. At this point to maintain order, I’ll be
calling your table number and the people from that table will be going to the location of the couple for
pictorial. Right after that they can now proceed and line up at the buffet counter to get their dinner.
Slicing of the Cake: May we request the couple to proceed to the cake’s table. Ladies and gentlemen, please
direct your attention to the cake slicing tradition. The husband and wife will put their hands together to slice
the cake. The two hands moving as one with one purpose, symbolizes that the two will work in unity to reach
common goals for their shared future and their life together as one.
BOUQUET CEREMONY
Now all the single ladies please come on down. Let’s do the bouquet game! Sabi ko sa inyo kanina, hindi ito
yung simpleng flower toss, kaya mas exciting. Ngayung nandito na kayong lahat, kukuha kayo ng flower stems
from the bride. Sige pumili kayo. Ang hindi kumuha uupo diyan sa hotseat! Hehe
At this point, after you chose your flower stems, listen carefully, here’s the catch. The lady with the longest
stem is the chosen one! Sino ang maswerteng babae?
GARTER GAME
Let’s call on this time all the gentlemen! Sige po punta kayo sa unahan. Now, I have here, bottles of beer.
Masusubukan kung sino ang malakas uminom. Hehe, in two minutes time, paunahan kayong maubos o ma-
consume yang mga beer ninyo. One, two, three. Ok, sinong unang naubos. Palakpakan. Sino ang konti lang ang
naconsume? Ikaw, ang maswerteng good boy!
Before we go on with the Garter Toss, the groom is to retrieve the garter from his bride. So may we request
_____and _____ to please come center stage and do the garter retrieval ritual. Thanks guys.

(A chair is brought onstage for the bride to sit. while groom kneels down at the bride's feet ready to retrieve
the garter)
Ladies and gentleman the groom will now retrieve the garter from the bride.
(Groom retrieves the garter from the bride.)
There you have it ladies and gentlemen; the groom was finally able to retrieve the garter. Let us give him a big
hand.
Message: (optional) The couple is blessed with good friends and dear families who truly support and love
them. I will be calling a few of them to offer their messages.
Couple’s Message: The night and this reception have almost come to an end but for our newlyweds it is just a
start of their new life together. As we each go home, may this day be memorable for all of us as it is to them.
To personally convey their heartfelt gratitude let us now hear from our newlyweds, Mr. ______ and Mrs.
________
Closing: That’s about everything. Ladies and gentlemen, we have finally come to the end of our program for
