EVALUATION:
A. Observations
After singing the national anthem, I remembered the time when I was still in high
school, all the students gathered in one place to have our flag ceremony. I still
remember all the lyrics so I am very proud of myself because of that. But some of
the participants did not remember all the lyrics correctly. They easily get nervous
when singing it.
All three of the participants were hesitant to sing the national anthem. They have
second thoughts whether they should sing it or not.
The first participant was able to provide all the correct lyrics but only sang it half-
heartedly. The second participant made only one mistake by singing “mo’y
bughaw” instead of the correct lyric “mong bughaw”. The third participant only
recalled the first few lines of the song.
They all sang it with the correct melody.
As a Filipino citizen, after hearing them sing the national anthem especially to
those participants who weren’t able to song correctly the national anthem is that I
felt a little disheartened. Singing the Philippine national anthem properly is one of
the simple ways to our love for the country.
B. Findings
The third participant forgot most part of the lyrics because he is not now used to
sing the Lupang Hinirang. In school, singing the national anthem is mandatory
but now he has a job, he is not required to do so.
The second participant misheard the lyrics and now used to sing it every time
during the flag ceremony. “Mong” and “mo’y” almost sound exactly the same.
The first participant was forced to sing the national anthem. That is why the
participant sang it half-heartedly.
All of the participants have difficulty in recalling the lyrics when there is no
accompaniment.
The third participant did not work in the Philippines many years and just recently
came back into our hometown. The participant did not hear the Philippine
national anthem for a long time now and just only remembered the first few
lines.
Partly the reason why the first participant can still recall the lyrics correctly it’s
because she is usually chosen to sing it whenever they have an event or
sometime times during their flag ceremony.
C. Recommendations
Encourage them to sing the national anthem confidently.
Sing the national anthem with an accompaniment to correct the pitch of the song.
Show them the proper posture when sing the national anthem. They must stand
straight, uplift the chin, and place their hands at their sides.
Educate them the importance of the national anthem as a citizen to this country.
Spread awareness that when singing the Philippine national anthem, they should
be timid and be proud in singing it whether they have an average singing voice.
