GEC RE 003 – CHRISTIAN LIVING

1. Christ is related to the Natural Law because he is the final destiny built into the nature of
every person. How can you integrate your day to day activities to Christ life? Elaborate your
answer. (10 pts)

- Since we are facing a pandemic right now, we are prohibited to go to church because it is
a crowded place. Ever since this started, I keep my relationship with God close by
attending live church services. I also keep in touch with our church pastors to hear some
words of God. I also communicate with God through prayer as much as I can. I also read
devotional books to nourish my mind with His word. And by these simple activities of
mine, even though I do not do all these every day, I always try to find time to have my
“me time” with God in order to keep my relationship with God close.

2. Give two situations in your life that you collaborate with people to come up a good decision.
What is the difference between making decision alone and with others? Elaborate your
answer. Be specific to the events and people. (10 pts)

- The time when I was about to enter college and choosing school, and the time when that
I wanted to look for my dad to have a communication with him again. I made these two
good decisions with my mom and my two sisters. Making these kinds of decisions are
indeed needed to get some advice from older people, especially my family. I am really
not used in making decisions on my own because I am afraid to make mistakes or hurt
anybody. I always asks other people about their opinion so that I would know if I am
choosing the right or not. I always make sure that the decisions that I am making will not
hurt or harm anyone who is around me.

3. How can you figure out your freedom during this time of pandemic is it more on responsibility
or unending choice of desire? Elaborate your answer. (15 pts)

- During this pandemic, I realized many things, one of them was that we are now in a world
that limits our capabilities, may it on our actions or decisions. We are told to be still and
do not do anything that can cause harm in our life. It hinders us to do things that we
usually do, it stops us from reaching what we want to do and restricting our freedom to be
what we want. With the corresponding effects of the pandemic such as education,
communication, transport, etc. I realized that my freedom is an unending desire because
even if this pandemic end, I am still trying to have my freedom. It is no longer just a
restriction, but it became as a restriction to a person, particularly our rights as human.
Nearly everyone is locked in the mental prison of the mind and absolutely craves,
sometimes unknowingly, to be free of it.
4. Cite 1 person (in any field e.g. in politics, education, health, family members, etc.) who
models the cardinal virtues (prudence, justice, fortitude, and temperance). Elaborate. (10 pts)

- I can say that a person that I know who models the cardinal virtues is my Mom. She is a
single mom who raised 3 daughters. She is the bravest and most loving mom, and I can
say that she has these virtues which are prudence, justice, fortitude, and temperance.
Prudence because she is always there to guide us and directs us to achieve the good
and to avoid anything that could led us to danger. Justice because she is the kind of mom
who disciplines her children, when we are wrong, she corrects us. Fortitude for the
reason that she been through a lot in her life; she raised us in her own and made
everything that she can so we can finish our studies. Temperance, although she drinks, I
still think that she has this temperance because she only drinks occasionally and just in
moderation.

5. "Socialization"…expresses the natural tendency for human beings to associate with one
another for the sake of attaining objectives that exceed individual capacities. (Cf. GS 25 § 2;
CA 12) Evaluate the “Bayanihan to heal As One Act or the Republic Act No. 11469 is it in a
process of socialization? Elaborate your answer. (20 pts)

- With the given explanation of Socialization, the Bayanihan to heal as one Act can be
classified as an act of Socialization or within the context of it. The act, in its purest sense,
aims to help the people who are affected by the pandemic that we are now experiencing
through the collective efforts of other people and the agencies that was stated in the act.
Moreover, considering that our world have been facing problems that can put the lives of
people at risk, the Bayanihan to heal as one is a great opportunity to help the society get
up from hardships that they have experienced. The act gave and still giving hopes to the
people, showing that a new beginning will arise, a new beginning that can change the
world. With these efforts, the society can achieve a greater goal in helping one another
through this tough time.
