HISTORY
APS was originally formed in 1978 to fulfil the growing needs of the
regional oil, gas and power sectors for a local high quality specialist
lining and coating service provider.
Our aim was then, as it is today, to provide a top-end service in
terms of quality and reliability for those areas that are critical to the
performance of these industries.
Three decades later, APS is, without question, still the leader
throughout the Middle East when it comes to quality, reliability and
longevity for process vessel linings, pipe linings and coatings and
the surface protection of equipment and components against
arduous service conditions such as high temperature, high abrasion
or high acid environments.
Much of our early work
revolved around the corrosion
protection of the internal and
external surfaces of new
pipelines. While this still
represents an important part
of our activities, we have, in
recent years also focused on
building up an unparalleled
portfolio of pipeline
rehabilitation systems with
applications for the municipal, as well as oil, gas and power sectors,
for the repair or replacement of existing aging and defective
pipelines. Here too our goal is to be the market leader in terms of the
provision of internationally recognized branded products and services
and thus be able to offer the most comprehensive and highest quality
rehabilitation service in the region.
Our overall policy is simple: Use of the best people to engineer the
best solutions and install the best products to the highest standards
and yet still continue to strive to improve in all that we do.

QUALITY
It goes without saying that with a company policy this bold, we
stand or fall by our performance. We therefore take all quality
issues very seriously indeed.
We have been, for many years certified operators to the
requirements of ISO 9001:200/EN, ISO 9001:2000/BS EN, ISO
9001:2000/ANSI/ASQC 9001:2000 and have also recently
adopted ISO 14000 because we care about the environment too.
Rigid in house quality control during project performance is
ingrained in our philosophy, which, together with strict inspection
and testing regimes and the ability to coordinate the work with
third party inspectors, ensures we deliver on our quality pledge.
Page 2
TRAINING
We value our workforce and are proud of the long service
record of our highly skilled technicians. We are constantly
reinforcing our commitment to their ability to perform for
ourselves and our customers by offering training and
certification to the highest international standard in all the
trades that they perform.
This often involves the use of independent outside
training and certifying agencies, which, in addition to our
own extensive in-house training programme guarantees
that the company doctrines of safety and quality are
adhered to at all levels.

FACILITIES
Our corporate headquarters are situated in Zabeel Road, Bur Dubai
in the U.A.E. where our management, sales and administrative staff
are located.
Other permanent branch offices are currently located in Abu Dhabi
and Oman.
The principal factory coatings and lining facility is located in Dubai
Investment Park industrial zone which is in the Jebel Ali area of
Dubai, conveniently located near to the Abu Dhabi border.
This US$ 4.0 million factory, constructed in 2007 comprises of over
12,000 M² of land and 5,000 M² of buildings in which is housed a
wide variety of modern, state of the art automatic and manual
equipment for the surface preparation and application of specialist
coatings and linings to pipelines and vessels. A significant section
of these facilities is constantly climate controlled and can be used
year round for the mixing and application of heat sensitive resins,
but equally as important, caters for the general well being of
technical staff during the hot summer months.
Page 4
FACILITIES
Large cold storage facilities are inbuilt to each of the buildings to
enable the controlled storage of sensitive materials prior to their
utilization. A fully equipped laboratory is also established in a clean
area of the operations facility together with offices for the QA/QC
staff responsible for the day to monitoring of production.
The main pipeline and heavy vessel coating unit is equipped with
dual overhead gantry cranes for the handling of heavy equipment
and all pipe-feed and collection trestles are motor driven into and
out of the surface preparation and coating booths.
Coating facilities include
computer controlled travelling
rotational bed spray lines for the
application of materials ranging
from thermal sprayed metal to hot
applied plural component, rapid
setting polyurethanes and
epoxies. Multiple internal spin
spray equipment is utilized for the internal lining of pipeline
components with liquid systems.
The facility also includes a large custom built shot blasting booth
with abrasive recovery and filtration units for the open blasting of
fittings and bends, together with enclosed shot blasting cabinets for
small miscellaneous items.
We also have an additional 7,500 M2 of land and buildings in the
nearby Al Quoz industrial park where we have centralized our
rubber lining and neoprene cladding facilities, which also include
the two largest steam pressure autoclaves available within the
Middle East region, together with high temperature dry ovens for
the curing of Phenolic and other heat-cure lining systems.
Additional automatic shot blasting machinery and
vacuum recovery systems are also located in the
rubber lining facility to enable the environmentally
friendly pre-treatment and surface preparation of
risers and pipe joints prior to surface treatment.

OPERATIONAL DIVISIONS
APS operates two divisions, with the business divided into the
activities of Industrial Coatings and Linings and Utility and Pipeline
Services. The activities of each division is given in detail on our
web site: www.apsdubai.com together with case studies of each
activity and we would welcome your visit to the site.
Briefly however, the responsibilities of each division are as follows:
Industrial Coatings and Linings:
The engineering and provision of factory and site based specialist
coatings and linings to the oil, gas and power industries, including,
but not limited to:
Solvent free, hot applied epoxy or
polyurethane coatings and linings for the
internal and external protection of
pipelines and storage tanks.
Glass reinforced polyesters, vinyl esters,
pure epoxies and coal tar epoxies for
the internals of storage and process
vessels with arduous working conditions
or extremely corrosive or high
temperature media.
