Course Description
This course uses, builds up, and capitalizes on the historical, political, and economic learning from
the past five Social Science subjects. It focuses on the practical application of Social Science
disciplines to promote active citizenship, advocacy and community involvement.

Course Objectives
As a result of their activities in Grade 12, all students will be able to:
1. demonstrate heightened awareness of the different social issues in the context of Philippine
setting;
2. apply problem solving and critical thinking skills to analyze Social Science concerns;
3. create symbolic representations to express ideas, opinions and perspectives about pressing
socio-economic issues; and
4. engage in activities that promote nation-building.

V. ASSESSMENT COMPONENT AND CRITERIA

*Alternative assessment may consist of at most three papers/performance/practical exams per quarter.
**Formative assessments are daily/weekly tasks given by the teacher at the end of a lesson. Maximum
of 3 activities/tests per week.

VI. BEHAVIORAL EXPECTATIONS AND SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS


Attendance
1. Students must access the Moodle platform during the scheduled time of online classes for
the course.
2. Tracking of accomplishments per session is based on the completed activities in Moodle
and the logged in data taken from the LMS Team.
3. For students without internet connection, attendance is based on the completed course
requirements submitted through courier on scheduled dates.

Decorum
1. During synchronous meetings, students are expected to be at their best behavior.
2. Questions and clarifications must be addressed through Moodle forum.

Special Considerations for Equity


1. When doing synchronous sessions, provision of printed/recorded materials shall be mailed
through courier for students without internet connections.
2. When doing asynchronous sessions, provision of Learning Guides mailed through courier
and phone call instructions shall be made for students without internet connections.
3. When doing examinations, provision of hard copy of examination materials shall be sent
through courier for students without internet connections.
