CHAPTER I
INTRODUCTION

Coffee is one of the world’s most popular beverages. Some claim it is the most widely

consumed liquid in the world aside from water. Coffee is more than a beverage, however, it is a

memory, an anticipation, a lifetime of consoling moments of the modest pleasure woven into our

lives.

Many of us loves to drink coffee, sometimes we enjoy it while reading our favorite book.

That’s why we came up with the idea of making a business that will suit for a coffee lover and a

book lover. Our café is a sole proprietorship and a service type of business, namely, “Novella

Café” that would be a perfect place for the customers to read a book while sipping a cup of

coffee and enjoying the light snacks that we offer. We serve variety of coffee, tea and frappe

together with pasta and sandwiches at a reasonable price. Our café is located in the vicinity of

Sangandaan, Caloocan City, extending right in front of a strategic location where the elites, as

well as the common people meet every day until wee hours of the night. Different

establishments, government agencies, schools are here, a perfect sanctuary of Novella Café,

where you cannot just enjoy specialty coffee but also light snacks.

We aim to provide a good service and a soothing environment for the customers while

reading a book and enjoying specialty coffee that we have, also the mouthwatering snacks that

we offer. Our business aim to become one of the best known coffee shop around the Philippines,

to earn profits and to gain the customers' trust.


Through the help of our feasibility study, we, the conductor of this study can prepare and write a

comprehensive feasibility study that will serve as a basis for creating a small business plan and

marketing plan. It will enhance us, the ABM students, to be more knowledgeable when it comes in

business. This study will serve as a partial fulfillment of requirements of ABM students in feasibility

subject.

Mission

To provide a friendly comfortable atmosphere where the customer can receive quality food,

service and entertainment at a reasonable price.

Vision

Novella Café envision itself as a leading book cafe in the Philippines with a commitment to meet

or even exceeds customers' need and satisfaction.

Significance of the Study

This section will provide a brief description on the various significances of the study given:

Customers. The researchers believed that the customers will benefit because the study was

made for them, especially to those book lovers and coffee lovers. They will benefit from the

perfect ambiance of the place for them to feel good that serves to be their comfort zone and to

feel relaxed in a way of reading and drinking coffee at the same time.

Farmers. Since the Philippines is one of the few countries that produce the four main viable

coffee varieties; (Arabica, Liberica (Barako), Excelsa and Robusta). This study will help the

farmers not only to promote their product (coffee beans) but also to give them opportunity to

engage in the business that will serve as a stepping stone to economic growth.

Future Researchers. Have acquired new skills and knowledge that they can use for their

profession and to enlighten their pathway to the business world. The ideas presented may be used

as the reference that will give them an overview of the production of a business.
