Summary

In this case, the author introduced the organizational culture in Microsoft. Microsoft is

not only focusing on every employee’s individual development but also takes organizational

cultural very important. The article introduced different ways that the company used to

improve and achieve the same organizational culture. In this case, I will analysis how does

Microsoft helps employees to change during their time in the company and how the

organizational culture will affect the company.

Case analysis

Business is like a battlefield, if you want to be invincible in the battlefield, the only way

is to improve the competitiveness of enterprises. Diversity is the acceptance of a wide variety

of personal differences. In addition to objective differences, diversity also includes accept

individuals in cognition, career, values, interpersonal relationship and social differences.

Inclusive means recognizing and fully balancing the diversity of the workforce [ CITATION

maximize the benefits of the organization, rather than simply tolerating them [ CITATION

Ric1 \l 1033 ]. How will diversity and inclusive culture impact the company’s development?

1. Broaden the perspective of the enterprise

Fusion of different gender, race, sexual orientation, age, physical ability and teamwork

order to really find the most suitable labor force, improve the competitiveness of

enterprises. Because talent is not set limits, there is no skin color and gender restrictions,

so that enterprises from a more diverse pool of talent to choose the right incumbent.

In Microsoft, the company the company deeply know about how diversity and inclusive

culture will affect the company’s development, so the company is helping their employee to

improve and exchange. First, they coached the human resource team to hiring different and

unique individuals to join the company. Second, redefining the evaluation standard of

performance. Third, the management team will have some part of the bonus to spend on

establish a diversity and inclusive environment.

If I’m a manager in Microsoft and we just hire an employee with autism. First of all, I

won’t tell any other team members about that this employee is different with others. Second,

I’ll find a bright but not that much people’s position and let this employee feels comfortable

and reliable when he is working at the company. Third is I will contact the related department

in the company to help this employee to get familiar with the company to make the

transaction smoother. I will also set the target and encourage this employee to try to

communication with others outside the work. To join lunch with team members. I believe that

every team member is unique. They are very special to the company and can all help the

company to develop.

Conclusion

Based on this case, I learnt a lot about Microsoft’s culture organizational. Also I’m more

familiar with how does diversity and inclusive culture important to the company. I believe

that everyone is unique and special in the company and they deserve an enjoyable and
