The story of the Quest of the Golden Fleece seemed like a very awesome
adventure. Jason and the Argonauts faced a lot of danger but in the end they
succeeded. The story is similar to the journey of Odysseus who passed through
different places and defeated monsters. The story shows how a man fulfills his true
destiny, like Jason who have been encountered huge amount of danger and long days
of sea journey to obtain the Golden Fleece and to take his kingdom back as a king. You
will learned that in life there is no easy way or shortcuts in success or achieving your
goals, there are times of hardships so you need to work hard for it and in the end you
will taste the sweet success. The story also shows great faith. In the story, Jason’s
mother prayed to goddess Hera for Jason’s safety and guidance and Hera heard it. In
life we need to put everything we do to God by a prayer, asked guidance always
because He will answered. If you believe, you can do everything. You can also see the
teamwork with Jason and the Argonauts, it shows unity and we can realize that in our
journey we are not alone, there are people who will lift us up, help us till the end and
there are people who will drag us down. We can also see in the story of what we called
“karma”. When Jason had an affair with another girl and Princess Medea became angry
that leads her to kill her children with Jason as a revenge. There’s an idiomatic
expression says that “what you sow, you shall reap” so what happened to Jason is the
result of his own action. It also shows immorality because it is wrong to kill, like Medea
did to her Children and in reality, it really happens there are parents who killed their
child because their eaten by anger, in the influence of drugs or alcohol. The story of the
Golden Fleece had a lot of lessons and scenario in which happened in real life, also
both in past and present situation.
