After completing my graduation when I joined my first job, I was hoping to come across the type of work
that would shape my thought process as a manager but after spending about a year and closely
monitoring all the processes that were happening around me, I realised that I lack the requisite analytical
and presentation skills and attributes like articulating my perspectives that were hindering my chances of
grabbing opportunities at work. At that point I understood that one needs to continuously upgrade in order
to make a successful career. I needed to upgrade my industry exposure, along with managerial attributes
of team building and resource allocation & utilisation, which the industry demands and that could help me
get into the kind of roles that I aspire for.

I always had a wish to pursue higher education due to my interest in studies but this need gave me a
direction. It made me decide to go for MBA as management education seemed to address all my
questions. Business administration has always been an area of keen interest for me. Getting quality
education on it would help me shape my career in a way that I desire. Inspired by a zeal to tackle the
problems of emerging India, this education will help me think practically and creatively. I find management
to be quite interesting as it involves solving complex problems and developing interpersonal relationships
among stakeholders, peers and business counterparts.The case studies discussions with a pool of
talented peers from diverse backgrounds would not only widen my vision but also provide me inputs
regarding the thought process that went behind practical solutions to problems faced by the corporates in
past.

Before marching into the corporate world with the highest of aims, I want to learn formal business
practices and get the bundled wisdom in these two years through courses, peers and highly experienced
faculty. The kind of growth both in terms of personal and professional frontiers that I will be getting in a
premium institute like IIM Bangalore will be unparalleled. Learning skills like working with people from
diverse backgrounds, delivering performance within crunch timelines, working simultaneously on multiple
projects dealing with different areas etc. would build my professional character.

As far as my career plans are concerned my immediate focus is to develop the character of a leader and
gain wider Industry exposure which an MBA from an institute like IIM Bangalore can help me achieve. As
is said sometimes that ‘your network is your net worth’, my ultimate goal being to start my own venture, I
plan to build my network and learn how to leverage it and how to prioritise things keeping in mind the
larger picture. Education in management would help me get there in a fast lane.
