Dear Mr. Heimlich:
Thank you for writing to the Office of the Illinois Attorney General with your
request for information pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act ( FOIA) ( 5 ILCS 140/ 1 et
seq. ( West 2018)).
In an e- mail received on December 15, 2020, you state the following:
According to the attached June 26, 2013 Dubuque Telegraph
Herald article, since 2010 your agency has conducted an
investigation of the Save A Life Foundation. Please provide me
with all records associated with that investigation.
Per our e- mail exchange later the same day, you clarified that you are seeking to
confirm whether this office' s investigation of Save -A -Life Foundation is open. You stated that
you would like a response similar to how this office has responded to your previous FOIA
requests for the same records. Specifically, in previous requests, you indicated that if the
investigation is open, you would like to receive a letter from this office to that effect. If the
investigation is closed, you would like to receive copies of the requested records, excluding those
records that this office had produced in response to previous FOIA requests. See, e. g., Letter
