Constitution Scavenger Hunt

Purpose:​ The Goal of this activity is to become familiar with what is actually included
in the Constitution. Too few Americans have actually read the Constitution or know how
it is divided. If we’re going to talk about U.S. Government in depth though, everyone
needs a basic understanding of the document that is the highest law in the land.

Directions:​ Use the copy of the ​Constitution​ from the “Annenberg Classroom” website to
answer the following questions about the U.S. Constitution. Please write your answers on a new
line following each question.

Article I:​ The Legislative Branch

Section 2

1. How often are representatives elected?


a. Representatives are elected
2. What are the 3 requirements listed for Representatives of the House?
a. Must be at least 25
b. Must have lived in the US for at least 7 years.
c. Live in the state they represent (not the same district)

Section 3

3. How long is the term for a senator?


a. The term for a senator is 6 years long.
4. What are the 3 requirements listed for members of the Senate?

impeached?
