Reflection Paper
Handling the information we send and received on the internet should be dealt with very well to avoid
misuse and misleading problems. The information that we send should be encrypted, which only means
that we should convert an essential and confidential information into a cipher or code to prevent
unauthorized access or leaked of information. The encrypted information is helpful and beneficial for me
to protect my reputation and in order for my privacy not be invaded if ever it is a personal information
that is only for my own accessibility and the people whom I think are concerned. We should also secure
the information we send and received. Securing an information, means making it fixed and attaching it
firmly so that whoever would try to make a move in changing it just to confuse and mislead people so
that the blame would be put all on you won't be able to do so. In my case, securing the information I
send and receive is my top priority because spreading and making information that are inappropriate
and irrelevant is something that I wouldn't do as a social media user because the internet should be a
friendly platform wherein people can collect factual and authentic information. We should also be
cautious in handling it. Being cautious means being careful and mindful of the information we send and
we should always think before we click. Everything that we share on the internet the moment we
tapped the post button can be spread in the whole wide world in just a minute and millions of people
can already read and see it. In everything that I do in social media, I should always keep in mind that the
words I used are appropriate in order not to hurt or offend other people even if it's not intentional. It
should also be handled in private. Keeping information private means that its boundary is limited only to
the people who are involved. The information I send and receive on the internet isn't necessary to be
shared with everyone and I should make it only accessible for the people who are involved because I
don't care about other people's opinion and my own perception and the people who has the right to
have a say about it are the ones that only matters. The information I send should also be reliable. A
reliable information means that it is based on a factual and credible reference and sources. In my
situation, sending information is very crucial because the moment you send something irrelevant,
people's perception about you would eventually change. For me to be considered as a reliable source,
the information I gathered should be based on credible sources so that the people who will receive it
can put their trust on me also as a source of information that is authentic and based on facts.
